A cross-platform, multimedia interpreter for TADS adventure games.
QTads is a cross-platform, multimedia interpreter for Tads games, compatible with HTML TADS. Both Tads versions in use today (Tads 2 and Tads 3) are supported. It has been tested in Linux, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows, but it should compile and run in many more. “Tads” is short for “Text Adventure Development System.” Tads consists of a programming language and a virtual machine (QTads provides the “virtual machine” part for running existing games, using the reference implementations of the T2 and T3 VMs written by Michael J. Roberts). The system is geared towards implementing Interactive Fiction (or “Text Adventures”), with support for multimedia features such as images, music and sounds. If you ever played an Infocom game like “Zork” or “Trinity”, or the classic game “Adventure” by Crowther and Woods (also known as “ADVENT”; it has also been ported to Tads), then you know what this is about.

Components for IEC61375 standardised communication
TCNOpen is an open source initiative which the partner railway industries created with the aim to build in collaboration some key parts of new or upcoming railway standards, commonly known under the name TCN. TCN (Train Communication Network) is a series of international standards (IEC61375) developed by Working Group 43 of the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), specifying a communication system for the data communication within and between vehicles of a train. It is currently in use on many thousands of trains in the world in order to allow electronic devices to exchange information while operating aboard the same train. TCNOpen follows the Open Source scheme, as the software is jointly developed by participating companies, according to their role, so as to achieve cheaper, quicker and better quality results. A set of tools/code to facilitate communicating to the Hava and Vulkano network streaming video devices (http://myhava.com and http://myvulkano.com). Long term goal to create MythTV hooks (Linux) but some bits are useful elsewhere. Hope to utilize any official Vulkano SDK for Linux one is ever released. Note my Hava died in May 2013 so there will likely be no more updates for Hava devices. I bought a Vulkano to replace it and hope to have similar functionality for it soon.

See http://silcnet.org/ for detailed information. SILC provides common chat and conferencing services like private messages, instant messages, channels and groups, and video and audio conferencing. The main difference to other protocols is that SILC has been designed with security as its main feature. All packets and messages sent in SILC network are always encrypted. Private messages are encrypted end-to-end, channel message are encrypted with channel-wide secret key and secure file transfer is protected peer-to-peer.
