    Gameboy emulator in Java 8

...As a reference, I’ve used the GameBoy CPU Manual - later on I discovered that it has a few typos and is not specific enough for some of the operations. After implementing the opcodes and memory (modelled by an int[] array) I was eager to check whether it’s possible to run some code on it. I had neither the cartridge nor the GPU emulation yet, so even the simplest game wouldn’t be an option. However, when the original Gameboy starts, it executes a simple 256-bytes program, a kind of firmware displaying the Nintendo logo and self-testing the system. That was exactly the thing I was looking for - after just 3 days I had an application running the Gameboy code!

    libGDX

    libGDX

    Desktop/Android/HTML5/iOS Java game development framework

libGDX is a cross-platform Java game development framework based on OpenGL (ES) that works on Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, your browser and iOS. libGDX provides a well-tried and robust environment for rapid prototyping and fast iterations. libGDX does not force a specific design or coding style on you; it rather gives you the freedom to create a game the way you prefer. Publish your games on Windows, macOS, Linux (including the RPi!), Android, iOS, and HTML5, all with the same code base. libGDX comes with batteries included. Write 2D or 3D games and let libGDX worry about low-level details. Heavy emphasis is put on avoiding garbage collection for ART/JavaScript by careful API design and the use of custom collections. libGDX is a well proven and reliable framework with a sound base and documentation. Furthermore, there are plenty of games built on top of libGDX, many of which are open source.

    Pkl

    Pkl

A configuration as code language with rich validation and tooling

...The language is embeddable, meaning it can run inside applications (Java, Swift, Go, etc.) to load configuration dynamically with the same safety guarantees. There’s also code generation support: writing Pkl modules can generate matching classes or data structures in target languages (Swift, Go, Java, Kotlin) so runtime config and statically typed code stay in sync.

True object-oriented Java web framework without NULLs

...The entire framework relies on your default Java encoding, which is not necessarily UTF-8 by default. To be sure, always set it on the command line with file.encoding Java argument. We decided not to hard-code "UTF-8" in our code mostly because this would be against the entire idea of Java localization, according to which a user always should have a choice of encoding and language selection. We're using Charset.defaultCharset() everywhere in the code. Essential part of Bigger Example is Front interface. It's encapsulates server's back-end and used to start an instance, which will accept requests and return results. ...

    Hutool

    Hutool

A set of tools that keep Java sweet

...Through static method encapsulation, it reduces the learning cost of related APIs, improves work efficiency, makes Java as elegant as a functional language, and makes the Java language "sweet". The tools and methods in Hutool come from each user's meticulous attention to detail. It covers all aspects of the underlying code of Java development. It is not only a sharp tool to solve small problems in large-scale project development, but also an efficiency responsibility in small-scale projects. Hutool is a friendly replacement for the "util" package in the project. It saves developers the time of encapsulating public classes and public tool methods in the project, allowing developers to focus on business while avoiding bugs caused by imperfect encapsulation to the greatest extent.

signal-cli provides a commandline, dbus and JSON-RPC interface

signal-cli is a command line interface for the Signal messenger. It supports registering, verifying, sending and receiving messages. signal-cli uses a patched libsignal-service-java, extracted from the Signal-Android source code. For registering you need a phone number where you can receive SMS or incoming calls. signal-cli is primarily intended to be used on servers to notify admins of important events. For this use-case, it has a daemon mode with D-BUS interface (man page) and JSON-RPC interface (documentation). For the JSON-RPC interface, there's also a simple example client, written in Rust.
