SGNP is a proposed grid naming standard providing (1) Scalable, global namespace; (2) Secure communication among resources/services (no central authority), and (3) Reliable rebind capability in the event of migration, failure, replication, etc.
This project intends to make a SOCKS compatible tunnel proxy which communicates to the server part, running on your nameserver, over standard DNS (UDP) protocol. That way you can bypass network firewalls allowing no other IP traffic but DNS.
Many web site use 3322.org's dynamic DNS service. Orignally, 3322.org provided two clients for both windows and *NIX. For OSX and other OS, you can use this client. If you like, you can embeded it in your own application.
