ZXing or “Zebra Crossing” is an open source multi-format 1D/2D barcode image processing library that’s been implemented in Java, and also comes with ports to other languages. A free open source Java application created to help you apply watermarks to your pictures in order to protect them from unauthorized distribution. Different font, color, size and transparency texts or images can be added as a watermark. Batch processing is also provided.

cbrTekStraktor is an application to automatically extract text from the text bubbles or speech balloons present in comic book reader files (CBR). Its prime goal is to perform analysis on the texts of comic books. cbrTekStraktor can however also be used for scanlation or similar purposes. The application also enables to manually define text areas in CBR files. The application comprises a simple graphical editor for further processing the extracted text. The text extraction is achieved by a combination of statistical and graphical processing operations. It is based on the following 3 major algorithms - Binarization of color images (Niblak and other methods) - Connected components - K-Means clustering Apache Tesseract is used to perform Optical Character Recognition on the extracted text. A subsequent version of the application will integrate with translation software in order to provide automated translation of comic book texts and re-inserion of translated texts

AlgART Java libraries for processing arrays and matrices are open-source product, distributed under MIT license. So, anyone can use them for free without any restrictions. Main features: 63-bit addressing of array elements (64-bit long int indexes), memory model concept (allowing storing data in different schemes from RAM to mapped disk files), wide usage of lazy evaluations, built-in multithreading optimization for multi-core processors, wide set of image processing algorithms over matrices, etc. - please see at the site. AllinDIP is a digital image processing application that implements many kinds of filters and transformation above digital images.

Bric is a cross-platform batch image processor. You can convert, resize, rotate and add watermark to your images. Multiple file types are supported for input and output.
