ARecordUpdater is an application that automatically updates A-Records for certain hosts. This update client keeps your hostname’s IP address up-to-date. If you have a dynamic IP address which changes periodically (monthly, weekly or even daily), then this can make it difficult or impossible to connect to services at home, like remote desktop or FTP. Using ARecordUpdater allows you to make sure you can always reach your home network, because it makes sure that your hostname is always up-to-date with the latest IP address. The update client can be run using a cron job to automate the process. So once you have it properly configured you don’t have to worry about it; you only need to remember your hostname to reach your files and services. Currently 3 hosts are supported: - one.com - eurohost.com - antagonist.nl ARecordUpdater doesn't use its own timer. It's better to use a cron job, so it uses less memory. The OwnTracks Recorder is a lightweight program for storing and accessing location data published via MQTT (or HTTP) by the OwnTracks apps. It is a compiled program which is easy to install and operate even on low-end hardware, and it doesn't require an external database. There are two main components: the Recorder obtains data via MQTT subscribes or HTTP POST, stores the data in plain files and serve it via its built-in REST API, and the ocat command-line utility reads stored data in a variety of formats. We developed the Recorder as a one-stop solution to storing location data published by our OwnTracks apps (iOS and Android) and retrieving this data. Our previous offerings (m2s, o2s/Pista) also work of course, but we believe the Recorder is best suited to most environments.

Agent IQ maintains a local database of device capabilities on your web server and, based on the incoming user agent header, returns an array of capabilities. These can be used in the logic of the site on the server side. When a request is received, it looks at the User Agent String of the incoming header and matches it against the database. If there is a match, the device capabilities are stored as PHP and Javascript variables for you to use in shaping how your site is served out. If there is no match, the request is re-directed to a javascript 'learning page' where the database is updated with the client capabilities and is redirected back. This happens in a flash. The 'learning page' uses Javascript and Modernizr. There is a learning logic built in to avoid incorrect records. You can set a barrier which determines how many identical records need to be 'learned' from unique IP's before the record becomes 'official'. An 'official' record never diverts to the learning page.

The Akka HTTP modules implement a full server- and client-side HTTP stack on top of akka-actor and akka-stream. It’s not a web framework but rather a more general toolkit for providing and consuming HTTP-based services. While interaction with a browser is of course also in scope it is not the primary focus of Akka HTTP. Akka HTTP follows a rather open design and many times offers several different API levels for “doing the same thing”. You get to pick the API level of abstraction that is most suitable for your application. This means that, if you have trouble achieving something using a high-level API, there’s a good chance that you can get it done with a low-level API, which offers more flexibility but might require you to write more application code. Akka HTTP has been driven with a clear focus on providing tools for building integration layers rather than application cores. As such it regards itself as a suite of libraries rather than a framework.
