RESTinio is a header-only C++14 library that gives you an embedded HTTP/WebSocket server. It is based on the standalone version of ASIO and is targeted primarily for the asynchronous processing of HTTP requests. Since v.0.4.1 Boost::ASIO (1.66 or higher) is also supported. Consider the task of writing a C++ application that must support some REST API, RESTinio represents our solution for that task. Server runs on the main thread, and responds to all requests with a hello-world message. Of course, you've got access to the structure of a given HTTP request, so you can apply complex logic for handling requests. Async request handling. Cannot get the response data immediately? Requests is a HTTP library written in PHP, for human beings. It is roughly based on the API from the excellent Requests Python library. Requests is ISC Licensed (similar to the new BSD license) and has no dependencies, except for PHP 5.6+. Despite PHP’s use as a language for the web, its tools for sending HTTP requests are severely lacking. cURL has an interesting API, to say the least, and you can’t always rely on it being available. Sockets provide only low-level access and require you to build most of the HTTP response parsing yourself. Requests allows you to send HEAD, GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, and PATCH HTTP requests. You can add headers, form data, multipart files, and parameters with basic arrays, and access the response data in the same way. Requests uses cURL and fsockopen, depending on what your system has available, but abstracts all the nasty stuff out of your way, providing a consistent API. -

If you want to parse models on a separate thread, you can take advantage of the compute function, just like Dio does when converting String data responses into json objects. Web framework in Rust
Rouille is a micro-web-framework library. It creates a listening socket and parses incoming HTTP requests from clients, then gives you the hand to process the request. Rouille was designed to be intuitive to use if you know Rust. Contrary to express-like frameworks, it doesn't employ middlewares. Instead, everything is handled in a linear way. Concepts closely related to websites (like cookies, CGI, form input, etc.) are directly supported by rouille. More general concepts (like database handling or templating) are not directly handled, as they are considered orthogonal to the microweb framework. However, rouille's design makes it easy to use in conjunction with any third-party library without the need for any glue code. The rouille library just ignores this optimization and focuses on providing an easy-to-use synchronous API instead, where each request is handled in its own dedicated thread. -

Once you've built your Request, you can specify the response handlers you want to use. .onData, .onString, .onJson, and .onError are available. You can chain them together to handle multiple response types, as they return a modified version of the Request. The body of the Request is built using the RequestBuilder @resultBuilder. It merges each RequestParam in the body into one CombinedParam object. This contains all the other params as children. When you run .call(), the children are filtered to find the Url, and any other optional parameters that may have been included. -

Takes is a true object-oriented and immutable Java8 web development framework. Pay attention that UTF-8 encoding is set on the command line. The entire framework relies on your default Java encoding, which is not necessarily UTF-8 by default. To be sure, always set it on the command line with file.encoding Java argument. We decided not to hard-code "UTF-8" in our code mostly because this would be against the entire idea of Java localization, according to which a user always should have a choice of encoding and language selection. We're using Charset.defaultCharset() everywhere in the code. Essential part of Bigger Example is Front interface. It's encapsulates server's back-end and used to start an instance, which will accept requests and return results. FtBasic, which is a basic front, implements that interface. -

The flexible HTTP client library for Elixir, with support for middleware and multiple adapters. Tesla is an HTTP client loosely based on Faraday. It embraces the concept of middleware when processing the request/response cycle. Define module with use Tesla and choose from a variety of middleware. Tesla is built around the concept of composable middlewares. This is very similar to how Plug Router works. All HTTP functions, such as Tesla.get/3 and Tesla.post/4, can take a dynamic client as the first argument. This allows using convenient syntax for modifying the behavior in runtime. Tesla supports multiple HTTP adapter that do the actual HTTP request processing. Each piece of the stream will be encoded as JSON and sent as a new line (conforming to JSON stream format). You can set the adapter to Tesla.Mock in tests. -

Forgetting to body.Close() in a client when the body has been dealt with is a common source of resource leaks in Go programs in our experience. Typhon ensures that – unless you're doing something really weird with the body – it will be closed automatically. Marshalling and unmarshalling request bodies to structs is such a common operation that our Request and Response objects support them directly. If the operations fail, the errors are propagated automatically since that's nearly always what a server will want. -

The first time you run code that is inside a VCR.py context manager or decorated function, VCR.py records all HTTP interactions that take place through the libraries it supports and serializes and writes them to a flat file (in yaml format by default). This flat file is called a cassette.
