The toolkit glpk supports methods for mixed integer linear programming (MILP). These methods solve Capital Budgeting Problems (CBP). Unfortunately, glpk does not support any multithreading and there is no feature to distribute problems via network connections. Today, this is a pitiable sight, because modern computer systems are coupled by networks and support multi threading. We create a distributed system with Apache thrift and the C-API of glpk. Now, it is possible to use as many cores in a network as you want. With a focus on the MILP methods we implement a load balancing and speed up the solving process in a multiplicative way. Sometimes we have super-linear speedup with a small set of hardware. With a splitting of problems, parallel computing and distributing the actual best solution to all running processes we solve CBP much faster than a sequential processing can do.

The Centre d'Informations (CI) aim is to articulate and display whatever type of knowledge available on a given field (see screenshots examples for various fields). The software is built as a network of information articulated using concepts (figure). The website should not be understood as a conventional search engine but as different ways to navigate within this knowledge (information and concept) network. Each information is thoroughly formalized; the aim is not exhaustivity or information amount but rather information quality so as to ensure the best possible articulation within the existing network (quality of the network) and ensure the subject diversity so as to cover the field with robustness.

DBNL is a cross-platform library that offers a variety of implementations of Bayesian networks and machine learning algorithms. It is a flexible library that covers all aspects of Bayesian netwoks from representation to reasoning and learning. It allows you to create simple static networks as well as complex temporal models with changing structure. It can handle highly non-linear dependencies between multivariate random variables. The particle based inference can answer arbitrary questions given the provided evidence and can even cope with multimodal densities. The library supports the most common types of densities and conditional densities, like uniform or normal densities and facilitates user defined density functions. To enable easy use the library is taking account of modern development techniques like policy based design and template programming. All these properties make it applicaple for a wide range of applications.

It has mainly developed for the movement of ESG climate datasets for high-speed replication and data access over the network. Climate Data Mover is used for testing 100Gbps networks in Nov 2011 at Supercomputing Conference.
