Testing images for scientific purposes
The TESTIMAGES archive is a huge and free collection of sample images designed for analysis and quality assessment of different kinds of displays and image processing techniques. The archive includes more than 2 million images originally acquired and divided in three different categories: SAMPLING and SAMPLING_PATTERNS (aimed at testing resampling algorithms), COLOR (aimed at testing color rendering on different displays) and PATTERNS (aimed at testing the rendering of standard geometrical patterns). Please cite the following papers when using any image in this archive: * ASUNI N, GIACHETTI A, "TESTIMAGES: A Large Data Archive For Display and Algorithm Testing", Journal of Graphics Tools, Volume 17, Issue 4, 2015, pages 113-125, DOI:10.1080/2165347X.2015.1024298 * ASUNI N, GIACHETTI A, "TESTIMAGES: a large-scale archive for testing visual devices and basic image processing algorithms", STAG - Smart Tools & Apps for Graphics Conference, 2014.
aveX is a software for running ABX listening tests (Blindtests). It also provides remote monitoring using OSC protocol.
OpenTeacher is an opensource application that helps you learn a foreign language vocabulary. Just enter some words in your native and foreign language, and OpenTeacher tests you.
Multi-threaded Server for Network Based Compilation
This is a lab based software for online compilation of programs. Currently only supports java compilation. This removes the requirement of installing compilers on every system in a lab based environment. Stores the files from the network on the server itself. Prevents loss of data, makes functioning within a lab more efficient, and reduces cost in terms of both time and cash.
Exam & quiz web platform written as a CGI application
Poludnitsa is a free exam/quiz platform. I wrote it because I needed a simple and robust platform to test a bunch of people. Poludnitsa is a CGI application, therefore it requires a web server (like Apache, nginx, etc). It's primarily written (and runs) on Linux platforms, however, being written in pure ANSI C makes it easily portable to virtually any platform. Poludnitsa stores all information in a PostgreSQL database. The installation of Poludnitsa is quite straigth-forward: it's as simple as putting two *.cgi files on your Linux web server, creating a text file with the SQL configuration that Poludnitsa should use, and access the administration GUI which will provide a wizard for initial configuration (detailed instructions are provided within the package).
Molecular 3D structures and networks viewer
Implementation of a visualization prototype for molecular structures and networks using the Unity3D game engine. Implementation of numerous graphical methods as spheres, particle systems, bond, etc.. as well as our recent HyperBalls methodology (see: www.hyperballs.sf.net).
VOXX is just another vocabulary trainer. If you want to increase your vocabulary, have to learn Q/As for the next examination or simply want to full up your brain with the elements of the periodic table: This application should be okay for you.
JMCAD is an program for the modeling and simulation of complex dynamic systems. This includes the ability to construct and simulate block diagrams. The visual block diagram interface offers a simple method for constructing, modifying and maintaining complex system models. The simulation engine provides fast and accurate solutions for linear, nonlinear, continuous time, discrete time, time varying and hybrid system designs. With JMCAD, users can quickly develop software or "virtual" prototypes of systems or processes to demonstrate their behavior prior to building physical prototypes. The user builds his system model by selecting predefined blocks from a block library and simply wiring the blocks together. Each block of the diagram performs a function. Users can also create custom blocks in Java and add them to the JMCAD block library. JMCAD is a block diagram language for creating complex nonlinear dynamic systems.

Syllog is a system for teaching logic, with anonymous answer logging
Syllog is a system for teaching various forms of logic, including syllogistic logic. It consists of a student-facing Java Applet that runs in the student's browser, and a teacher-facing, server-based logging facility for recording the answers given by students. The student-facing part simply poses questions, to which the student must provide an answer. The teacher-oriented logging facility then logs the answers anonymously for further investigation by the teacher.
The calculation is designed for geometrical designs and complex examinations of shafts. The programme solves: definition of installed shafts; definition of spatial shaft load; calculation of reactions, courses of forces, moments, stress.
Open Software Plagiarism Checker
A open source software plagiarism checker. It checks the similarity of individual files and generates various types of reports. Also it is able to find groups of similar submissions.
Formative evaluation platform
eTests is a PHP/MySQL web-based platform allowing to set formative evaluations using multiple choice questions. It has been developed during a Phd in education at the University of Namur, Belgium. To the students it offers feedback and detailed results to compare with pairs. To teachers it offers a way to analyze questions, validate them, follow the classroom trends of answers, edit questions, surveys, contextualize results regarding to studies sections, period of the year, etc. This software is actually in pre-alpha because some not essentials features are still missing. eTests uses several opensources libraries. See the 'Credits' section in the README file. There is no documentation for the moment. It will be done in the wiki as soon as possible. eTests was presented at FOSDEM 2013 during a lightning talk http://youtu.be/BM0QpD86je0
Database Questions & QCM Generation
LEA is a PHP/MySQL web-based platform allowing to create questions using multiple choice answer, with one or multiple answer(s). It's an evolution of eTests ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/etests ). The branch of LEA is developed from sept 2014 to march 2015 before take his own way. NTER Learning Management System
National Training and Education Resource. Full featured online Learning Management System. NTER allows educators to create classes in SCORM format without programming. Classes can contain images, video, tests and reports. Students can interact with instructors and other students. The NTER project was designed as a low cost tool for providing workforce education and training, with the expectation that the open source community would assume its operation. The Department of Energy (DOE) is exploring the transition of stewardship of NTER through its Request for Information (RFI). DOE asks RFI respondents to provide information about capabilities required to take over NTER operations and the impact such a transition would have on the NTER community. To learn more about the RFI visit: https://eere-exchange.energy.gov/#FoaId4292035c-06cb-4af3-bb25-de35479f52d1 NOTE: The SourceForge site is continually updated.
