An easy way to perform background processing in .NET and .NET Core applications. No Windows Service or separate process required. Backed by persistent storage. Open and free for commercial use. Easy to set up, easy to use. No Windows Service, no Windows Scheduler, no separate applications required. Background jobs are regular static or instance .NET methods with regular arguments, no base class or interface implementation required. Once a background job was created without any exception, Hangfire takes the responsibility to process it with the at least once semantics. Although the default installation uses SQL Server and polling technique to fetch jobs, you can leverage MSMQ or Redis extensions to reduce the processing latency to minimum. Background method calls and their arguments are serialized and may overcome the process boundaries. Job filters allow you to add custom features to the background processing in a way similar to ASP.NET MVC action filters. -

HoloCubic is a multi-function transparent display “desktop station” that uses a dispersive prism to create a pseudo-holographic visual effect, combined with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity to support interactive network-capable applications. Built around an ESP32 PICO-D4 microcontroller, a 1.3″ 240×240 ST7789 display and MPU6050 inertial sensor, the device allows you to build a “floating hologram” style display module with additional networked visual features like weather display or follower counts. The hardware design includes versions of the PCB (Naive version, Ironman version) and 3D model files for the enclosure (3D printed or CNC metal). The software leverages LVGL (a GUI library for microcontrollers) and supports surface touch or IMU-based input. Because it connects via WiFi/Bluetooth, it can fetch live data and display dynamic content, bridging embedded display, network, and interactive gadget design. -

The Node.js driver uses the asynchronous Javascript API to communicate with your MongoDB cluster. deej is an open-source hardware volume mixer for Windows and Linux PCs. It lets you use real-life sliders (like a DJ!) to seamlessly control the volumes of different apps (such as your music player, the game you're playing and your voice chat session) without having to stop what you're doing. Control your microphone's input level. Lightweight desktop client, consuming around 10MB of memory. Runs from your system tray. Helpful notifications to let you know if something isn't working. The sliders are connected to 5 (or as many as you like) analog pins on an Arduino Nano/Uno board. They're powered from the board's 5V output (see schematic). The board connects via a USB cable to the PC. The code running on the Arduino board is a C program constantly writing current slider values over its serial interface. The PC runs a lightweight Go client in the background. This client reads the serial stream and adjusts app volumes according to the given configuration file. -
