...The recorded amplitude profile of the thermal wave shows a maximum corresponding to a heat accumulation in the region where the open micro-gap is found, whereas a minimum in the phase profile is detected. These maxima/minima are convenient indicators that allow to locate surface breaking defects on teeth.
