It always frustrated me that almost NO image tool can handle RAW image files. That's why I built my own! It's nothing fancy, it takes files from the cmd-line and asks for the images' dimensions. I programmed it in less than 10 minutes :-p -

PlaTec is a 2D terrain generator that uses a simplified model of plate tectonics to produce realistic heightmaps in real time. The simulator starts with a flat fractal map and splits it randomly into plates. Plates are moved around the map. If continents of two plates collide, they fold creating mountain belts. PaintBox is a painting program that allows the user to draw and color lines, rectangles, ovals, polylines, polygons, and text. The program also allows the user to create customs shapes and then save them for quick use in other drawings. DSAquire allows you to download and plot trace data from a Thurlby DSA524 digital storage adaptor (it's a 25 year old instrument, but better late than never, eh?).
