  • Optical Mark Recognition MySQL and PHP

Optical Mark recognition with MySQL database and PHP scripts

http://omr-ai.sourceforge.net/ described how to use MySQL and PHP for OMR. The PHP scripts were very much dependent on scanned page size and resolution. I have written the OMR page format and PHP scripts which are more flexible in nature. This script used horizontal and vertical guides to identify area to be analysed for MCQ answer checking and also identify and correct tilt. It is tailor made for A4 page size, but resolution can be varied with little impect on results. The answer page and scripts can be modified easily with little change in major functions of the library.

  • fileaxy Icon

    fileaxy

Fileaxy does file de-duplication, organization, and bulk previewing

Fileaxy is a file de-duplication, organization, and bulk previewing tool which utilizes a new user interface for local file management. Using content hashing or machine vision algorithms, Fileaxy can detect identical files as well as similar images, videos, or fonts and correlate those to others based on naming conventions. Optionally integrates with ImageMagick, GraphicsMagick, FFmpeg, and Libav file decoding with a simple button click. Fileaxy opens NO network connections and will NOT request passwords. Runs on Java 8 platforms of Mac, Windows, and Linux. My goal is to have Fileaxy manage 1 million file objects live in the UI without JNI. • SadOS Icon

    SadOS

SadOS is a Linux distribution for artsy hackers

SadOS is inspired by the fictional Linux distribution used by the webcomic character Don Depresso (http://dondepresso.rujic.net). *Why Use SadOS?* SadOS is basically a distribution for artsy hackers (and, of course, sad people). It’s packed with system utilities (making it highly useful as a USB stick or live DVD), security and penetration-testing tools for the curious, and some nontraditional choices in graphics/imaging tools. SadOS runs the lightweight Xfce4 for its desktop environment, so it will perform swiftly even on older hardware. *Other Info* SadOS 1.0 is based on Arch Linux, while SadOS 0.9 is based on Xubuntu 12.04 and Backtrack Linux 5. SadOS was originally sold on bootable USB sticks, which is why the README applies to running it from a USB stick. Most of the README is still relevant even if you are not booting SadOS from a USB stick. If you have questions about SadOS, please direct them to http://dondepresso.rujic.net/ask or rujic@rujic.net.

  • Bimage

Bimage allows groups to view and generate images of infinite depth

Bimage is combination of javascript and Servlet scripting meant to allow users to explore images with (near-)infinite depth. Bimage uses javascript to create the images and then save them to the database for later use. This allows users to come together to explore and generate complex, depthful images. Bimage is targeted for Google App Engine (GAE), and uses the datastore for a backend, though it should be adaptable to other backends. This project is set up for eclipse using the GAE plugin. The server-side of Bimage is not required for the javascript to function, but the saving of images will always fail (or can be disabled). Follow the link below to see Bimage in action. (Best viewed on Firefox or Chrome).

  • C2C Slope Ruler

LaTeX Slope rulers to measure slope on topographic maps

These rulers have been designed using LaTeX and the PGFPlots package by Christian Feuersanger to measure slope on a 1:25,000 scale or 1:50,000 topographic map. Slope is determined by comparing the distance between contour lines of the map with the reference lines on the edges of the ruler. The top border of the ruler is designed to measure slope with a 20 meter contour interval. The bottom border measures slope with a 50 meter contour interval. You should print this ruler on white or transparent paper, taking care of deactivating any scaling options. Check the actual size of the ruler in centimeters on the right border. Emmanuel Vazquez

Open source first/third person shooter set in real world locations

This project aims to make an open source shooter (with first person and/or third person view) set in real world locations that will be greatly affected by climate change. The game uses the Enemy Territory: Legacy game engine (for NSCOET), but we also promote the AssaultCube Reloaded and Urho3D game engine as respectively secondary and tertiary game engines. Since the game engine can be considered as just another tool (it is basically an advanced map/level viewer, the game engine isn't the most important aspect of the platform, and game developers wanting to use our maps can decide themselves which of these engines they wish to use. The most important aspect of this platform is the community of game developers themselves, the help they provide between one another, and the tools (which allow converting of models, maps, .. in between game engines). For anyone wanting to contribute to the project: you can contact me via osfpsproject@users.sourceforge.net or osfpsproject@users.sf.net
