An award-winning drawing program for children ages 3 to 12
Tux Paint is a free, award-winning drawing program for children ages 3 to 12. It combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who guides children as they use the program. Kids are presented with a blank canvas and a variety of drawing tools to help them be creative. Along with paintbrush, shapes and text, Tux Paint includes a "stamp" feature to add pre-drawn or photographic imagery to pictures, and a set of "magic tools" that provide filter effects (like blur, tint and waves) and interesting drawing tools (like train tracks, bubbles and grass). Tux Paint includes a collection of "starter" images, both coloring-book style and photo-realistic, and a large collections of stamps are available as a separate download. Additional content can be added by parents and teachers, or downloaded from 3rd parties. Tux Paint is available for Linux, BSD, Windows, Mac OS X and Haiku operating systems.
gPhoto is a program and library framework that lets users download pictures from their digital cameras. The libgphoto2 library gives you access to hundreds of models of digital cameras on several platforms. GIT repo and Issue tracker lives at https://github.com/gphoto/ these days.
A very high quality package of printer drivers for CUPS on Linux, Macintosh OS X, and other POSIX-compliant operating systems. This project also maintains an enhanced Print plug-in for GIMP 2.x from the same code base.
Synfig is a powerful, industrial-strength vector-based 2D animation software package, designed from the ground-up for producing feature-film quality 2D animation with fewer people and resources.
A full featured cross-platform image library
Developer's Image Library (DevIL) is a cross-platform image library utilizing a simple syntax to load, save, convert, manipulate, filter and display a variety of images with ease.
NOTE: FontForge has moved to fontforge.github.io, newer binaries and sources are available at github.com/fontforge. FontForge allows you to edit outline and bitmap fonts. You may create new ones or modify old ones. It is also a format converter and can interconvert between PostScript (ascii & binary Type1, some Type3, some Type0), TrueType, OpenType (Type2), CID, SVG
Read, write and edit metadata
Perl library and command-line application for reading, writing and editing meta information (EXIF, IPTC, XMP, and more) in a wide variety of file formats (JPEG, TIFF, PNG, PDF, RAW, and more).
Simple and intuitive 2D vector drawing for electronics and not only.
A multiplatform vector drawing program with a complete library of electronic symbols. Schematics and drawings are stored in a very compact text format. There is no netlist concept behind the drawings (so no simulation, and this is a choice) but this allows a great graphical flexibility and ease of use, making FidoCadJ the perfect tool for exchange sketches in forum and newsgroup discussions with a few clicks. Drawings can be exported in several graphic formats, such as pdf. Follow the development live on Twitter: https://twitter.com/davbucci

Java Image Processing Program
ImageJ2x is medical image processing program inspired by NIH Image for the Macintosh. It can display, edit, analyze, process, save and print 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit images. There can be many image formats including TIFF, GIF, JPEG, BMP, DICOM, PNG, FITS and "raw" and ... Read and supports "stacks" (stack), a series of images that share a single window. The program supports simultaneous that number of windows (images), limited only by available memory. It is multithreaded, so that time-consuming operations such as reading lists in parallel with other operations are performed. It can calculate area and pixel value statistics of user-defined selection. It can measure distances and angles. It can record density histograms and line profiles. It supports standard image processing functions such as contrast manipulation, sharpening, smoothing, edge detection and filtering it through all kinds of geometric transformations such as Zoom in / out and rotation. Images can be enlarged up to 32
monoGIS will be a complete GIS suite for the Mono platform. The current milestone release includes an internet mapserver, OGC WMS implementation and some tools like spatial format conversion. For other projects using monoGIS see mdwglib and Appomattox.
Not your usual Architectural Modeler
Why do Archicad and Revit only share 30 or 40% of the global architectural sofware market ? Maybe because lots of small practices find these software unadapted to the way they work, and to their bank account. I think there's place for an open software that doesn't work like the existing. It will be simple in its tools and processes, and will have infinite capabilities. This will be possible by defining a logical structure. As I am an architect, and I know very little about programming, and wouldn't reach even in 10 years the necessary level to be able to write anything useful for this type of software, my part will be to bring ideas and coherence to this project. If you want to know some more : - go to the blog https://sourceforge.net/p/mollino/blog/ - write me a message ;) I speak french, german, english and italian. Martin Lucas
