Cuts 3D objects from polystyrene foam (EPS/XPS)
A robotic DIY styrofoam cutter consisting of one rotational and two translational axes. It cuts a variety of shapes out of styrofoam-like materials using a hot wire. This project documents the necessary hardware and software parts. Converts bitmap file to c/c++ files (usefull for embedded systems with GUI). The color encoding is fully configurable (for example 16bit 5/6/5) and a "preview" bmp file is generated to show how much the picture is altered by the information reduction
