Viking is a free/open source program to manage GPS data. You can import, plot and create tracks, routes and waypoints, show OSM, Bing Aerial and other maps, geotag images, create routes using OSRM, see real-time GPS position (not in Windows), make maps using Mapnik (not in Windows), control items, etc. It is written in mostly in C (with some C++) & the GTK+3 toolkit. Using PHP-CLI to parse NMEA data to generate depth maps with GD. As fishing is a passion of mine,and it got me to consider using the NMEA formatted data output from my Lowrance 5-DSI Elite to generate a bathymetric map of the lake at my cottage. It is currently very crude, just a bunch of CLI scripts that record NMEA data, and the other parses the stored data and builds a depth, water temperature and sample frequency map.
