For those of us who have legacy software, the deprecation of gdk_imlib in gtk+-2.0 and gtk+-2.0 is a headache. It would be a lot quicker to port legacy software packages like this if gdk_imlib were available. This package, is a port of gdk-imlib to gtk+-2.0 which preserves all the feature of the original (gtk+-1.2) libraries. For true elegance can be launched using cron or Evolution's calendar or other timed launcher however often you like (I use Evolution's calendar and it works fine), webcamgrab is not interactive - once configured you can leave it alone. Assumed path names are /usr/bin for lynx and ~/Public for webcamgrab's files. If you would change these paths just modify the Python code in webcamgrab.py with the text editor of your choice.
