    Just One Single History

    Just One Single History

    Just One Single History

...The partial repo will act as a normal git repository but only contain the files found in the subdirectory and only commits affecting those files. The partial repo supports both fetch as well as push operation. This helps not just to improve performance on the client due to having fewer files in the tree, it also enables collaboration on parts of the monorepo with other parties utilizing git's normal distributed development features. For example, this makes it easy to mirror just selected parts of your repo to public github repositories or specific customers. Simplify code sharing and dependency management. Beyond just subdirectories, Josh supports filtering, re-mapping and composition of arbitrary virtual repositories from the content found in the monorepo.

    Gradle Git Version

    Gradle Git Version

A Gradle plugin that uses `git describe` to produce a version string

This Gradle plugin derives your project’s version directly from the state of the Git repository, turning tags and commits into consistent semantic versions. It reads the most recent tag, the number of commits since that tag, and whether the working tree is dirty, then composes a deterministic version string. Teams can enforce patterns (for example, treating non-tagged builds as snapshots) and keep CI builds reproducible without hardcoding versions in build.gradle. The plugin integrates with Gradle’s project.version, so the computed version flows automatically into publishing, packaging, and artifact naming. ...

    GitPrep

    GitPrep

Portable GitHub system into your own server

GitPrep is a lightweight, self-hosted web interface for browsing Git repositories, typically deployed on a single server with minimal dependencies. It implements features like commit history browsing, file viewing and diffing, directory tree navigation, tag/branch switching, and README rendering, much like GitHub’s core UI. Because it’s written in Perl and designed for simplicity, setup is often as easy as cloning, configuring a webroot, and pointing to repositories. Authentication and basic permissions can be configured, allowing private or team usage. Unlike full-featured Git lab or hosting suites, GitPrep focuses on just the browser view of repositories, staying lean and ideal for small teams or personal use. ...

    exa

    exa

    A modern replacement for ls

...Different types of file and data will be coloured differently, and the user and group columns will be highlighted for the current user. exa can display a file’s extended attributes, as well as standard filesystem information such as the inode, the number of blocks, and a file’s various dates and times. exa queries files in parallel, giving you performance on par with ls. Not only is the standard tree tool built-in, but it’ll show you your files’ information alongside the hierarchy. View the staged and unstaged status of every file, right there in the standard view. Also works in tree view for a high-level overview of your repository.

    gitslave

    gitslave

    Coordinated multi-repository super-projects for Git

Gitslave is a script for coordinated version control of large projects combining code from multiple independent repositories using Git. More flexible than traditional git submodules, gitslave provides a simple wrapper around command-line git that manages a directory tree with multiple subsidiary ("slave") git repositories in sub-directories of a "master" git repository. Any git command run from the "gits" wrapper will be performed in all the git repositories; for example gits checkout -b newbranch will create the new branch in all repositories. Gitslave has been used for mid-sized product development with many slave repositories (representing different programs and plugins), branches, tags, and developers; and for single-person repositories tracking groups of .emacs and .vim repositories (in the latter case, it is basically used to keep the slave repositories up to date via a single command).
