libgit2 is a portable, pure C implementation of the Git core methods provided as a re-entrant linkable library with a solid API, allowing you to write native speed custom Git applications in any language which supports C bindings. Libgit2 is developed with CMake, and this is be the easiest way to build a binary from the source. The CMake build system provides lots of options to configure the libgit2 build for your particular needs. It’s highly recommended that you build libgit2 as a static library for Xcode projects to simplify distribution significantly. libgit2 is used for powering Git GUI clients, such as gmaster and GitKraken and on Git hosting providers such as GitLab, Azure, GitHub, DevOps, among others. Gitslave is a script for coordinated version control of large projects combining code from multiple independent repositories using Git. More flexible than traditional git submodules, gitslave provides a simple wrapper around command-line git that manages a directory tree with multiple subsidiary ("slave") git repositories in sub-directories of a "master" git repository. Any git command run from the "gits" wrapper will be performed in all the git repositories; for example gits checkout -b newbranch will create the new branch in all repositories. Gitslave has been used for mid-sized product development with many slave repositories (representing different programs and plugins), branches, tags, and developers; and for single-person repositories tracking groups of .emacs and .vim repositories (in the latter case, it is basically used to keep the slave repositories up to date via a single command).

GIT extra utilities, like repo summary, repl, changelog population, author commit percentages and more. Supports several sub-commands such as git-ignore, git-setup, git-summary, git-changelog, git-effort, etc. Some commands require extra dependencies which are unavailable in some platforms. You may need to install them manually. Note that only the Homebrew package is maintained by the git-extras developers directly. Other packages are maintained by the distribution's packagers or third-party volunteers. Installing from Homebrew will not give you the option omit certain git-extras if they conflict with existing git aliases. To have this option, build from source.

Allows to transparently encrypt repository contents with AES 256. The main advantage is that no additional software needed to be installed in untrusted location. Files are automatically encrypted on the fly when doing git push from trusted location.

hub is an extension to command-line git that helps you do everyday GitHub tasks without ever leaving the terminal. Hub is a tool that wraps git in order to extend it with extra functionality that makes it better when working with GitHub. Available commands are split into two groups: those that are already present in git but that are extended through hub, and custom ones that hub provides. Most hub commands are supposed to be run in a context of an existing local git repository. Hub will automatically detect the GitHub repository that the current working directory belongs to by scanning its git remotes. In case there are multiple git remotes that are all pointing to GitHub, hub assumes that the main one is named "upstream", "github", or "origin", in that order of preference.

Python script to mirror a git repository with subversion It uses a basic common working directory, where git checkout the file for each commit of the master branch and then it will add, del, commit with a svn client.

sbdiff is a frontend for (GNU) diff. It compares files and directories line by line, outputs the files side-by-side in two columns and colorizes the differences. Because it is a console application, no GUI is necessary.
