AdaGate is a kid-friendly 3D sokoban puzzle game within a Stargate / Portal fantasy setting. It is a great example of modern OpenGL programming using the Ada programming language. It runs on Windows, OSX, or Linux. While searching a remote south-seas atoll for remnants of a lost American heroine, a stargate kawoosh lures you into 4 strange dungeons. Escape will require the logical rearrangement of weird power cells [ZPMs] that roll in only two directions. Shoot your portal guns at the dungeon walls to configure 2 escape portals, but in order to activate them, all of the ZPMs must be bumped onto their sockets. But beware: you can only PUSH the ZPMs, so you will fail if you roll one into a corner or against a wall. But don't worry, cheating is pretty easy ; ) The proper command to extract the archive and maintain the directory structure is "7z x filename".

This is a minimalist version of the Sokoban puzzle game that runs on Windows, OSX, and Linux. The beauty of this implementation is that it is fully OpenGL 3.3 core profile Ada code, using no OpenGL-deprecated functions. Has undo (u) and restart (r) functions. Each data file has many "levels". The next (n) and previous (p) keys move between levels. The (R-shft) and (L-shft) keys move between puzzle data files. Bigger (b) and smaller (s) keys help you to proportionally adjust the size of the window. ReZero (z) creates a setpoint[=saved_configuration] so that (r) will later restore that setpoint. To move the "pusher" use the arrow keys. The objective is to push all the red squares or rubies onto the green positions. Comes with dozens of families of puzzles, each family having dozens of levels. Sudoku Maker is a generator for Sudoku number puzzles. It uses a genetic algorithm internally, so it can serve as an introduction to genetic algorithms. The generated Sudokus are usually very hard to solve -- good for getting rid of a Sudoku addiction.

The interesting thing about this is the artificial intelligence. You probably do not want to play Tetris AI. It survives for more than 1000 lines and beats every human in multiplayer mode (due to its speed). Two differnt AIs can play against each other.
