...Originally written in ActionScript, this tool emphasizes generating aesthetically pleasing island maps with realistic natural features while keeping computational complexity manageable. It supports exporting to SWF (Flash) via appropriate tooling. The most important features I want are nice island/continent coastlines, mountains, and rivers. Non-goals include impassable areas (except for the ocean), maze-like structures, or realistic height maps.

Simply select the parts you want, move them around using the buttons or asdwqe keys, and finally save your creation to your computer with a transparent background. To make the saved images more useful, open them in GIMP, autocrop them, adjust hue/saturation to get the desired colors, and scale them down to the point that the seams are less visible.

Kidware is currently a few flash apps for helping very young kids with learning mouse control, counting and basic sets. I tried to keep as much distraction out of the games as possible, in part, because I want the kids to focus on learning the tech above being amused. Hopefully kids will quickly learn these techniques and then use them to play some more advanced games. Currently, most of the games do not come with sound or instruction so the teacher/adult may need to demonstrate the game.
