Airfoil optimization with Xfoil
Airfoil optimization using the highly-regarded Xfoil engine for aerodynamic calculations. Starting with a seed airfoil, Xoptfoil uses particle swarm, genetic algorithm and direct search methodologies to perturb the geometry and maximize performance. The user selects a number of operating points over which to optimize, desired constraints, and the optimizer does the rest.

parse and decode METAR, TAF, SYNOP, BUOY, AMDAR and write data as XML
metaf2xml can download, parse and decode aviation routine weather reports (METAR, SPECI, SAO), aerodrome forecasts (TAF), synoptic observations (SYNOP), observations from buoys (BUOY) and meteorological reports from aircrafts (AMDAR). Data can also be taken from decoded BUFR messages. The extracted data can be written as XML or passed to a user-defined function (all done in Perl). It also provides XSLT style sheets to convert the XML to plain language (text, HTML), or XML with different schemas. A web-based (CGI) user interface can be used to download and display up-to-date weather data from NOAA, Ogimet, and other sources.
An open source Acars decoder with rtl_sdr frontend
Acarsdec is an open source, multi-channels realtime ACARS decoder for Linux. It features : - up to four channels decoded simultaneously - error detection AND correction - input from sound file , alsa sound card or software defined radio (SRD) via a rtl dongle (http://sdr.osmocom.org/trac/wiki/rtl-sdr) or airspy (http://www.airspy.com) - could send decoded acars to a server via UDP in planeploter format or its own dedicated format. The 4 channels decoding is particularly useful with the rtl dongle. It allows to directly listen simultaneously to 4 different frequencies , with a very low cost hardware. Since version 3.0, acarsdec comes with acarsserv : a database backend program to store received acars messages.
Calibration Control and Maintenance Management
Kalibro is an open source free software to manage devices and tools for calibration and maintenance records. It helps you to keep inventory and reminds you the scheduled dates. Kalibro also helps you to satisfy the requirements of the Quality Management Standards like ISO9001, AS9100 and TS16949. Manufacturing, Quality and IT departments of small/medium sized companies are targeted to use Kalibro. You do not need to use spread sheet files to save your critical calibration records. See the Kalibro website (http://www.ozanh.com/kalibro) for further details.
An open source implementation of the High Level Architecture Run-Time Infrastructure. Focused on modularity and flexibility, Portico provides an extensible environment to support HLA simulation development and research.
Advanced mission simulation and analysis tool
The Orbit Determination Toolbox (ODTBX) is developed by the Navigation & Mission Design branch at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center as an advanced mission simulation and analysis tool used for concept exploration, proposal, early design phase, and/or rapid design center environments. ODTBX functions and utilities are combined in a flexible architecture that allows for modular development of navigation algorithms and simulations. The core ODTBX functionality is realized through a set of estimation commands that incorporate Monte Carlo data simulation, linear covariance analysis, and measurement processing at a generic level.
Simulation for spacecraft attitude control system analysis and design
42 is a comprehensive general-purpose simulation of spacecraft attitude and orbit dynamics. Its primary purpose is to support design and validation of attitude control systems, from concept studies through integration and test. 42 accurately models multi-body spacecraft attitude dynamics (with rigid and/or flexible bodies), and both two-body and three-body orbital flight regimes, modelling environments from low Earth orbit to throughout the solar system. 42 simulates multiple spacecraft concurrently, facilitating studies of rendezvous, proximity operations, and precision formation flying. It also features visualization of spacecraft attitude.
COmputational fluid dyNamics STRUctured grid CreaTor for 2D airfoils
Construct2D is a grid generator designed to create 2D grids for CFD computations on airfoils. The grids are generated in Plot3D format. The only required input file is the set of coordinates defining the airfoil geometry, using the same format as XFoil, the popular vortex-panel code for airfoil analysis. Construct2D can create grids with O topology (recommended for airfoils with a blunt trailing edge) or C topology (recommended for airfoils with a sharp trailing edge). Now available in version 2.0: hyperbolic grid generation to create higher quality grids in a fraction of the time compared to elliptic grid generation. Elliptic grid generation is still available also. Smooth airfoil surface spacing is handled automatically with user-controlled clustering parameters. Also included is a visualizer written in Python with matplotlib.

An applicaton for CAN bus coms development, testing and validation
CANStream is a .NET application intended to be used for CAN (Controller Area Network) bus communication development, testing and validation. CANStream allows to extensively test any system using CAN communication by sending and receiving CAN frames. Thanks to its powerful built-in mathematical expression evaluator, CANStream can also behave as a real control system feeding back the test device or commanding a third party device with context sensible data. Extended data logging and data analysis features of CANStream provide a comprehensive solution for testing and results analysis CANStream extensively uses the PCAN-Basic API developed by PEAK System for the PCAN-USB adapter You will therefore need to have PCAN-USB adapter and at least one free USB port available to make a complete use of CANStream. CANStream can manage up to eight PCAN-USB adapters at the same time, thus you will need eight USB ports available.
