A really basic thread-safe progress bar for Golang applications
A very simple thread-safe progress bar that should work on every OS without problems. I needed a progress bar for croc and everything I tried had problems, so I made another one. In order to be OS agnostic I do not plan to support multi-line outputs. The progressbar implements an io.Writer, so it can automatically detect the number of bytes written to a stream, so you can use it as a progress bar for an io. Reader. A progress bar with an unknown length is a spinner. Any bar with -1 length will automatically convert it to a spinner with a customizable spinner type. For example, the above code can be run and set the resp.ContentLength to -1. There is a lot of customization that you can do - change the writer, the color, the width, the description, the theme, etc. -

Ethereum implementation on the efficiency frontier
Erigon is an implementation of Ethereum (execution client), on the efficiency frontier, written in Go. For an Archive node of Ethereum Mainnet we recommend >=3TB storage space: 1.8TB state (as of March 2022), 200GB temp files (can symlink or mount folder <datadir>/etl-tmp to another disk). Ethereum Mainnet Full node ( see --prune* flags): 400Gb. Erigon by default is "all in one binary" solution, but it's possible start TxPool as separated processes. Same true about: JSON RPC layer (RPCDaemon), p2p layer (Sentry), history download layer (Downloader), consensus. Don't start services as separated processes unless you have clear reason for it: resource limiting, scale, replace by your own implementation, security. How to start Erigon's services as separated processes, see in docker-compose.yml. -

Squirrel is both a set of tools and a library, to completely manage both installation and updating your Desktop Windows application, written in either C# or any other language (i.e., Squirrel can manage native C++ applications). Squirrel uses NuGet packages to create installation and update packages, which means that you probably already know most of what you need to create an installer. Windows apps should be as fast and as easy to install and update as apps like Google Chrome. From an app developer's side, it should be really straightforward to create an installer for my app, and publish updates to it, without having to jump through insane hoops.
