This repository holds various protocol building blocks of the Ethereum blockchain execution layer and is managed by the Ethereum Foundation JavaScript team. There is a TypeScript implementation of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) ready to be used in Node.js or a browser environment, implementations of core structural blockchain building blocks like an Ethereum Tx, Block or Blockchain as well as a Trie (Merkle Patricia Tree) and devp2p (execution networking layer) implementation. All libraries are bound together by the core Common library keeping track of chain specifics and hardfork changes. They are complemented by helper packages like RLP for data encoding/decoding or Util, providing helper functionalities like (byte) conversion, signatures, types and others. Finally, the EthereumJS Execution Client (EthereumJS) has been in active development for some time now. It already serves a variety of purposes like testing, research (e.g. EIPs) and developer tooling. -

For prerequisites and detailed build instructions please read the Evmos Installation instructions. In Ethereum, the personal API manages private keys in the keystore. We needed to implement this functionality on Ethermint so that Ethereum keys and signing would all be compatible. Since the Cosmos-SDK’s keyring doesn’t explicitly support locking and unlocking of keys the way Ethereum does, a workaround had to be implemented. Unlocking a key is done by exporting it from the Cosmos keyring via decrypting the file and storing it in memory. Locking the key deletes it from memory, leaving it only as an encrypted file on-disk. -

Event Horizon is a CQRS/ES toolkit for Go. Event Horizon is used in production systems but the API is not final! CQRS stands for Command Query Responsibility Segregation and is a technique where object access (the Query part) and modification (the Command part) are separated from each other. This helps in designing complex data models where the actions can be totally independent from the data output. ES stands for Event Sourcing and is a technique where all events that have happened in a system are recorded, and all future actions are based on the events instead of a single data model. The main benefit of adding Event Sourcing is traceability of changes which can be used for example in audit logging. Additionally, "incorrect" events that happened in the past (for example due to a bug) can be compensated for with an event that will make the current data "correct", as that is based on the events. -

The v8go library would welcome contributions from anyone able to get an external windows build of the V8 library linking with v8go, using the version of V8 checked out in the deps/v8 git submodule, and documentation of the process involved. This process will likely involve passing a linker flag when building v8go (e.g. using the CGO_LDFLAGS environment variable. The API should match the original API as closely as possible, but with an API that Gophers (Go enthusiasts) expect. For example: using multiple return values to return both result and error from a function, rather than throwing an exception. -
