...The key to building the OTF fonts is makeotf, which is part of the AFDKO toolset. Information and usage instructions can be found by executing makeotf -h. The TTFs are generated with the otf2ttf and ttfcomponentizer tools. For convenience, a shell script named build.sh is provided in the root directory. It builds all OTFs and TTFs into a directory called target/. -

...Although Vazir was completely different in typeface, still the original software was common. The design is done in Fontforge. For Latin glyphs, Vazirmatn is combined with Roboto font by a build script, however, there is also a version without Latin glyphs (Non-Latin). All weights other than Thin, Regular and Black are generated by the interpolation method by fontmake library. -

Programming languages are limited to relatively few characters. As a result, combined character operators surfaced quite early, such as the widely used arrow (->), comprised of a hyphen and greater sign. It looks like an arrow if you know the analogy and squint a bit. Composite glyphs are problematic in languages such as Haskell which utilize these complicated operators (=> -< >>= etc.) extensively. Space Grotesk is a proportional sans-serif typeface variant based on Colophon Foundry's fixed-width Space Mono family (2016). Originally designed by Florian Karsten in 2018, Space Grotesk retains the monospace's idiosyncratic details while optimizing for improved readability at non-display sizes. Family is built using fontmake and gftools post-processing script. Tools are all python based. Space Grotesk is licensed under the SIL Open Font License v1.1, see OFL.txt for details. -

The sorting of the font names in some apps is also improved. U+2423 '␣' OPEN BOX now has a monospaced horizontal advance of 667 units (the previous version used 1000 units).
