This font is derived from the x3270 font, which, in turn, was translated from the one in Georgia Tech's 3270tool, which was itself hand-copied from a 3270 series terminal. ...Characters are not lost even on non-HiDPI (non-Retina) Windows. Consider readability of special characters such as subscripts and superscripts ( assuming JuliaLang ). The font file is SIL Open Font License 1.1. The source code of the synthesis script etc. is MIT. The Pomicons glyphs included in Nerd Fonts are excluded from the generator because they are licensed for commercial use.

Programming languages are limited to relatively few characters. As a result, combined character operators surfaced quite early, such as the widely used arrow (->), comprised of a hyphen and greater sign. It looks like an arrow if you know the analogy and squint a bit. Composite glyphs are problematic in languages such as Haskell which utilize these complicated operators (=> -< >>= etc.) extensively.
