...The FDM is essentially the physics & math model that defines the movement of an aircraft, rocket, etc., under the forces and moments applied to it using the various control mechanisms and from the forces of nature. JSBSim can be run in a standalone batch mode flight simulator (no graphical displays a.k.a. console mode) for testing and study, or integrated with the Unreal engine, FlightGear and many other simulation environments.

The Kelpie Flight Planner for Flightgear. This Java based Gui flight planner uses the airport and navaid databases of the Flightgear, allowing the user to search for airports and navigation aids and plan flights between them. [Note: Requires Java 1.10 or above] This program is no longer being actively developed or supported. All future work is being undertaken on a port to Rust/Gtk at https://github.com/shartrec/kelpie-flight-planner. But is still in the very early stages.

DACPEI is a WYSIWUG Software for Conceptual design of Light Fixed Wing aircraft. It is specifically designed to be intuitive and easy to use by engineering students (not necessary aerospace/aeronautics). DACPEI is divided in 9 modules, for analyzing mission profile, Aircraft performance, propulsion and layout design, as well as sketch component for developing aircraft drawings. DACPEI enable users to export their design to the FlightGear flight simulator software, enabling the designer to...

A very lightweight advanced terrain-rendering and 3D map rendering system. Minimal dependencies: OpenGL, SDL. It's distrib in 2-3 separate modules: 1. the C++ implementation of the terrain- and/or surface- rendering Algorithms I have developed: both a multithread and a non-multithread variant is relaeased. 2. Seme as at point 1. , but with a road-network rendering and collision-detection module I wrote before. It also adds some trees at the top of the terrain. (multitread vesion not...
