SparkleShare creates a special folder on your computer. You can add remotely hosted folders (or "projects") to this folder. These projects will be automatically kept in sync with both the host and all of your peers when someone adds, removes or edits a file. SparkleShare was made to cover certain use cases, but doesn't handle every scenario well. SparkleShare uses the version control system Git under the hood, so setting up a host yourself is relatively easy. Using your own host gives you more privacy and control, as well as lots of cheap storage space and higher transfer speeds. The idea of SparkleShare sprouted at the GNOME Usability Hackfest in London, where a couple of designers came to the conclusion that they didn't have a good (Open Source) collaboration tool to share their work.

Designing network protocols by hand is a costly and sometimes troublesome work. This C# library implements a generic network protocol that transports the events object creation, object destruction and the change of a property of one of those objects. It also has facilities to observe the objects for property changes. In sum, the properties of objects that are taken care of by the library are automatically kept in sync. The only requirement to the objects is that they notify the modification of their properties, similiar to what WPF requires from a (typical) view model.

SynchedIn is a portable utility created to enforce realtime or latent synchronization of data (generally files) between different data storage sources. You can create as many synch configs as you please. Each synch config specifies a number of data sources, a number of schedulers. Each scheduler determines when the data sources must be checked for synchronization. Each data storage source represents a hierarchical (file system ...) or other type of data storage medium. These include hard drive, removable media, sequential devices, online storage services. Perhaps the most distinguishing quality of this utility is POP3 and IMAP storage providers which enable storage of files in a mail server, such as gmail or yahoo, in so much the same way as an online storage service (google drive, drop box ...). Synclair is a tool for diff'ing and synchronizing directories. It also includes a utility to find duplicate files (by name, or md5 hash). It is a command line tool, written in Java.

Synctity is a program for synchronizing files on multiple machines. It is a front end for rsync that maintains multiple profiles, making often-run syncing tasks easy to perform. Released under the terms of GPLv3. Synctity runs on Mac OS X, Linux, and other Unix-like operating systems. The latest release provides a stand-alone application bundle for Mac OS X. EXITO, the EXercise event Injection TOolkit, has been developed in order to help the moderators of large scale, multi-party exercises. It has been designed as a communication and coordination tool to keep in track the execution of complex exercises with large number of injects and players. It enables the exchange of events and reports among users by managing a Master Event List (MSEL); massively injecting events; and collecting feedback from the exercise players. EXITO is web based and can be integrated with a Content Management System (CMS) like Drupal. EXITO can be used: -by exercise moderators to run an exercise scenario in a timely and ordered fashion, injecting events to the users through the web interface; -by exercise players to view injected events and provide feedback in a centralized repository; -by exercise observers to view the way an exercise progresses. EXITO is developed by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC).
