Change is good but changing everything isn't always great. Same is true for aging computers and their operating systems. Support is sometimes lost too quickly with a 6 month core release cycle. Graphics & Audio cards and chipsets get dropped along with other miscellaneous functions with programs or drivers that just go missing. We all like having updated software we certainly don't like down time or loss of features and capabilities. I believe most aging hardware just needs the right system on it, and lets face it, it helps keep a couple bucks in your pocket if you can squeeze a few more years out of your current system; without sacrificing, performance, capability, usability and of course aesthetics. http://lxle.net/forums/

  • Manjaro_By_MM Icon

    Manjaro_By_MM

Manjaro is a user-friendly Linux distribution based on the independently developed Arch operating system. Within the Linux community, Arch itself is renowned for being an exceptionally fast, powerful, and lightweight distribution that provides access to the very latest cutting edge - and bleeding edge - software. However, Arch is also aimed at more experienced or technically-minded users. As such, it is generally considered to be beyond the reach of those who lack the technical expertise (or persistence) required to use it. Developed in Austria, France, and Germany, Manjaro provides all the benefits of the Arch operating system combined with a focus on user-friendliness and accessibility. Available in both 32 and 64 bit versions, Manjaro is suitable for newcomers as well as experienced Linux users. For newcomers, a user-friendly installer is provided, and the system itself is designed to work fully 'straight out of the box'.

  • Mubuntu 1.0

Mubuntu Is a remix of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS featuring MATE instead of Unity

Mubuntu Is a remix of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS featuring MATE instead of Unity. MATE is a Fork of the Gnome2 Code with a LOT of great stuff Added. Mubuntu 1.0 was created using remastersys, however, the GIT repo has the Live FS in it, for further improvement and recompiling. My intention at this point is to base my future releases around the LTS versions of Ubuntu as the ammount of work required to reconfigure the OS with MATE takes a lot of time to do. Im not sure at this point if i want to make Mubuntu into an Official for like kubuntu/lubuntu etc... only time will tell, but at this point im planning to base my version numbers independant of ubuntu's (so not base around like 12.04, 12.10 etc) like the linux mint project. If you have any interest in joing me in development i would be happy for the help! Ov3rwatch
