  • Lensfun Icon

    Lensfun

Library to correct optical lens defects and lens database

Digital photographs are not ideal. Of course, the better is your camera, the better the results will be, but in any case if you look carefully at shots taken even by the most expensive cameras equipped with the most expensive lenses you will see various artifacts. It is very hard to make ideal cameras, because there are a lot of factors that affect the final image quality, and at some point camera and lens designers have to trade one factor for another to achieve the optimal image quality, within the given design restrictions and budget. But we all want ideal shots, don't we? :) So that's what's lensfun is all about - rectifying the defects introduced by your photographic equipment.

A Fast, OpenSource Program for Docking Ligands to Proteins and N.Acids

rDock is a fast and versatile Open Source docking program that can be used to dock small molecules against proteins and nucleic acids. It is designed for High Throughput Virtual Screening (HTVS) campaigns and Binding Mode prediction studies. rDock is mainly written in C++ and accessory scripts and programs are written in C++, perl or python languages. The full rDock software package requires less than 50 MB of hard disk space and it is compilable in all Linux computers. Thanks to its design and implementation, it can be installed on a computation cluster and deployed on an unlimited number of CPUs, allowing HTVS campaigns to be carried out in a matter of days. The rDock program was developed from 1998 to 2006 by the software team at RiboTargets (subsequently Vernalis (R&D) Ltd). In 2006, the software was licensed to the University of York for maintenance and distribution. In 2012, Vernalis and the University of York agreed to release the program as Open Source software.

  • libcsdbg Icon

    libcsdbg

C++ exception (and generic) stack trace library (now libinstrument)

Project is migrating to libinstrument (https://sourceforge.net/projects/libinstrument/) Libcsdbg is a C++ exception stack tracer, offers the tools to create and process exception traces, the path an exception has propagated up the call stack, unwinding it, up to the point where it was handled. The traces are detailed with demangled function signatures and addr2line info (source file and line of each function call). Libcsdbg will perform flawlessly with multi-threaded programs, with dynamically linked shared objects (DSO) and with any statically linked library. Libcsdbg helps the developer/tester also create stack traces of any thread, at any point during, as a snapshot of the runtime call graph. This is very useful in cases of fatal errors, reception of terminating signals or process abortion/termination (such as segmentation faults)

  • PortOpt Icon

    PortOpt

    A portfolio-optimizer using Markowitz(1952) mean-variance model

PortOpt [Portfolio Optimizer] is a C++ program (with Python binding) implementing the Markowitz(1952) mean-variance model with agent's linear indifference curves toward risk in order to find the optimal assets portfolio under risk. You have to provide PortOpt (in text files or - if you use the api - using your own code) the variance/covariance matrix of the assets, their average returns and the agent risk preference. It returns the vector of assets' shares that composes the optimal portfolio. In order to minimise the variance it internally uses QuadProg++, a library that implement the algorithm of Goldfarb and Idnani for the solution of a (convex) Quadratic Programming problem by means of an active-set dual method. This solution is very efficient as it allows to solve hundred of thousand of portfolio problems in seconds. PortOpt runs as a text/console tool so it can be easily used in your own scripts.
