    age

    age

A simple, modern and secure encryption tool (and Go library)

...It supports a clearly defined format and promotes interoperability across implementations (there are Rust, TypeScript, etc). The project is well-suited for personal data encryption, backup use-cases, scripting encryption workflows, and embedding encryption in tools. Because of its design philosophy, it avoids the bloat of many older encryption utilities while maintaining strong cryptographic hygiene. It’s especially useful for developers or system administrators who want to adopt encryption without learning a multitude of options.

    Skitter Creek Bath Salts

    Skitter Creek Bath Salts

Unlocking _everything_ on the CPU with DRAM scrambling

Skitter Creek Bath Salts is a security research project exploring how low-level DRAM address translation affects processor security boundaries. It demonstrates that changing memory-controller translation behavior can expose physical memory regions normally hidden from the operating system. The research targets AMD Family 16h processors, whose documentation describes relevant DRAM translation registers. Its examples examine protected areas associated with the Platform Security Processor,...

    DavUtils

Powerful webdav client and sync tools with client-side AES encryption

DavUtils is a collection of easy to use WebDAV client tools. The built-in client-side encryption allows you to encrypt and decrypt files on the fly with AES. Currently two command line tools are available: dav is a multipurpose WebDAV client that can be used like the standard unix tools ls, mkdir and rm. The other tool is dav-sync that can synchronize local files with a WebDAV server.

    cadenas

    cadenas

Encrypt a file with a password, right in your browser

...No file and no password is ever sent over the Internet: the page is technically not allowed to open any network connection (Content Security Policy connect-src 'none'), and it works offline once installed. It uses Argon2id and XChaCha20-Poly1305, detects any change to an encrypted file, and can read and write the age format, so files stay readable with other tools. The same tool comes as a command line for Windows, macOS and Linux, a Docker image you can self-host, and a JavaScript library. cadenas is free software (MIT) with a documented file format. It has not had an independent security audit yet; the threat model and format are public for review.
