    Battery Optimizer

    Battery Optimizer

Helps to improve the life expectancy of an electronic device's battery

... to an electronic device when the battery has reached a set threshold. Some companies do this with their devices but are usually proprietary. -Lenovo does this with some of their laptops -Company called "chargie" already doing this for phones. Using this device, it will provide universality. For the first iteration of this device, I chose to focus on laptops. I hope in the future to make an app for phones to connect to the device as well.

    RunLengthGPIO

    RunLengthGPIO

a computer interface to the Arduino I/O digital lines

This sketch makes the Arduino work as a GPIO interface for a computer, where input and output changes are transmitted in run-length encoding. Every time an input pin changes, the Arduino sends the new values of the input pins and the time since the last change. In a similar way, the Arduino can be programmed a sequence of output pin changes, each specified by the new values of the output pins and the time since the previous change. Three application programs are included: the first makes...

    IrrigationController

    Smart Home Irrigation System

... for temperature sensors. * Soil Moisure Sensors are responsible for sensing if the soil of irrigated flowers are wet or not. These sensors are attached to the Sensor Controller Module via slow speed I2C bus. The modules use 2-pin probes and drives them with 4 kHz square wave in order to avoid oxidating the probes. In my implementation I used these small water pumps from Conrad: http://www.conrad.hu/conrad.php?name=Products&pid=539090 The whole system is powered by a 12V / 4A SMPS.

    WinDS

    WinDS

Windows XP reimplemented on Nintendo DS

WinDS is a Reimplementation of the OS Windows(R) XP(R) on the Platform Nintendo DS. Since i started coding Apps for the NDS, my goal was to write a program, called WinDS, which does (nearly) the same as the real appy by Microsoft. In contrast to other little NDS-Operating Systems, just like Woopsi etc. you can code your own Application in Lua for WinDS: just copy the Code onto the FAT-Disk and execute it from within WinDS! This is what makes WinDS so unique. The New Beta 0.95 is out...

    Linux for Beagleboard-xm

A Tailored Small Linux for Beagleboard-xm

Beagleboard-xm is a powerful chip with a cortex-A8 CPU and a DSP. I have the plan to build an OCR gadget using it with Linux. As a by product I will post my tailored Linux kernel and u-boot, and all relevant stuff here, from now on. I was shocked by the blocking of Chinese citizens from accessing some of the contents on sourceforge. I deeply regret the outrageous action initiated, even though I fully understand the reasoning behind it.

    bmp2rle

Encode bitmap(bmp) file with run-length encoding

Encode bitmap(bmp) file with run-length encoding(RLE), just like RLE4 and RLE8, but extend to RLE16, RLE24 and RLE32. Usually, this project will be used in GUI of embedded system, to make the image files smaller, and save the IO bandwith. If the GUI support JPG or PNG, the compression ratio is much better than RLE, but how about the embedded system encounters both caculate limitation and IO bandwidth limitation? Try this project, I hope it can make a banlance between caculation...

ELKS is a subset of the Linux kernel that runs on IBM compatible PCs from 8086 up. It is intended to get use out of obsolete old hardware, for use in embedded systems, and as an educational tool. ELKS has been moved to Github to protest SourceForge's installer adware hijacking. This does not directly affect ELKS, but it does affect many major open source projects such as Gimp and FileZilla by attempting to trick the user into installing adware in order to download these programs. I refuse...
