    PythonPark

    PythonPark

Python open source project "The Road to Self-Study Programming"

PythonPark is a large, curated “learning playground” for Python — essentially a comprehensive self-study meta-repository aimed at helping learners progress in Python programming, data science, machine learning, web scraping, and software engineering practices. It aggregates tutorials, learning guides, project examples, and resources across topics: from Python basics and data structures to machine learning, web scraping, and even interview preparation and “programmer life” guidance. Because of this breadth, PythonPark serves both as a reference library (for quick lookup) and as a structured learning path for beginners and intermediate learners in Python. ...

    Think Python 2

    Think Python 2

LaTeX source and supporting code for Think Python, 2nd edition

...The repository contains clean, well-commented Python scripts that are easy to follow and map directly to chapters of the text, covering topics like variables, control flow, functions, recursion, data structures (lists, dictionaries), classes and objects, file I/O, and algorithmic thinking. It also contains solutions or hints for many exercises so learners can check their work or explore alternative implementations. Because it’s educational, the repository emphasizes readability, clarity, and progressive learning rather than performance tuning or advanced constructs.

    Digital Forensics Guide

    Digital Forensics Guide

Learn all about Digital Forensics and Computer Forensics

The Digital Forensics Guide repository is a comprehensive, structured reference for investigators, analysts, students, and cybersecurity professionals interested in digital forensics principles, tools, methodologies, and workflows. It organizes foundational topics such as evidence acquisition, disk and memory analysis, file system structures, network forensics, artifact extraction, timeline generation, and reporting into digestible modules that help build core competency. Alongside conceptual explanations, the guide includes practical examples with widely used tools (like Autopsy, Volatility, Sleuth Kit, and network analysis suites), illustrating how investigations proceed from initial data capture to final analysis. ...

    Elementary Algorithms

    Elementary Algorithms

Book of elementary algorithms and data structures

This book introduces elementary algorithms and data structure. It includes side-by-side comparison of purely functional realization and their imperative counterpart. From 2020/12, I started re-writing this book. The PDF can be downloaded for preview (EN, 中文). The 1st edition in Chinese (中文) was published in 2017. I recently switched my focus to the Mathematics of programming, the new book is also available in (github). To build the book in PDF format from the sources, you need the following...

    The Art of Programming

    The Art of Programming

A collection of practical tips can be found at the bottom of this page

The Art of Programming (Second Edition) is a curated collection of programming problems and solutions originally derived from the Microsoft 100 Interview Questions blog series, later refined into a long-running tutorial and ultimately a published book. Created by July, the series began in 2010 and has since evolved into an in-depth exploration of algorithmic thinking, data structures, and coding interview preparation. The repository brings together 42 classic programming problems from the original series, enhanced with detailed explanations, formula derivations, and optimized solutions. In July 2023, work on the second edition was announced, which expands the project with updated content, new problems inspired by recent big-tech interviews, and introductions to modern machine learning techniques such as XGBoost, CNNs, RNNs, and LSTMs. ...

    ety

    ety

A Python module to discover the etymology of words

ety is a Python library and command-line tool designed to explore and retrieve the etymological origins of words by analyzing linguistic data and relationships between languages. It allows users to query a word and obtain its historical roots, including intermediate forms across different languages and time periods. The tool can generate recursive etymology chains as well as tree structures that visually represent how a word evolved over time. It is built as both a reusable module and a CLI utility, making it suitable for integration into other applications or standalone use. ...

    Learn Python the Hard Way

    Learn Python the Hard Way

Concise study notes derived from “Learn Python the Hard Way”

This repository contains concise study notes derived from “Learn Python the Hard Way,” organized to reinforce core Python concepts through small, targeted examples. It emphasizes hands-on practice—short scripts, exercises, and explanations that help cement syntax, data structures, functions, and modules. The notes call out common gotchas, idioms, and style preferences so learners form good habits early. Because the content is intentionally compact, it’s easy to revisit a topic quickly when preparing for interviews or refreshing fundamentals. The material favors clarity over abstraction, keeping examples runnable and easy to modify in any editor. ...

    Assignment Collector/Grader

A webapp that collects and grades student labs

Assignment Collector/Grader (what a mouthful!) was conceived in 2010 as a way to reduce the workload of an over-worked professor teaching a CS data structures class. It proved not only to reduce the grading workload, but also improved the lab completion rates among students, and grades overall improved as a result. Since it has turned out to be such a successful tool, it is now released under the AGPL license for others to use in their classrooms. Planned improvements include: automatic plagiarism detection, making the student interface prettier, and supporting other testing frameworks and languages.
