The Recommenders repository provides examples and best practices for building recommendation systems, provided as Jupyter notebooks. The module reco_utils contains functions to simplify common tasks used when developing and evaluating recommender systems. Several utilities are provided in reco_utils to support common tasks such as loading datasets in the format expected by different algorithms, evaluating model outputs, and splitting training/test data. Implementations of several state-of-the-art algorithms are included for self-study and customization in your own applications. Please see the setup guide for more details on setting up your machine locally, on a data science virtual machine (DSVM) or on Azure Databricks. Independent or incubating algorithms and utilities are candidates for the contrib folder. This will house contributions which may not easily fit into the core repository or need time to refactor or mature the code and add necessary tests.

Scikit-learn Tutorial contains the materials for Jake VanderPlas’s introductory scikit-learn tutorial, originally used at major Python conferences. It provides a collection of notebooks that walk attendees from basic machine-learning concepts into practical modeling using the scikit-learn library. The tutorial covers data preparation, model fitting, evaluation, and common algorithms such as classification, regression, clustering, and dimensionality reduction. It is designed for people who already have a working Python environment and some familiarity with NumPy, SciPy, and Matplotlib. The MIDI Sight Reader Java Applet works again! To use it you should use Firefox with Java Applet Plug-in installed. Developed using Firefox 25.0.1 and Java 7, Update 51. So what is it? Well it scrolls random notes within a selected key, playing them aloud for audio confirmation, while you, the user, play the notes on your instrument. There is no MIDI interface, the name refers to MIDI because it uses the Java Midi API and organizes everything numerically, according to MIDI numbers. The application plays the notes aloud as they pass under the centerline of the application window. So you adjust the scrolling speed and time between new notes and then play each note before the application echos it back to you. It also scrolls guitar tablature, as can be seen in the video. The keyboard and guitar models are linked so that playing a note on the piano keyboard (clicking a key) causes the guitar neck to display all the locations of the same note on the guitar neck.
