PICSimLab - Prog. IC Simulator Lab.

PICSimLab - Prog. IC Simulator Lab.

PICSimLab is a realtime emulator for PIC, Arduino, STM32, ESP32, ...

PICSimLab is a realtime emulator of development boards with MPLABX/avr-gdb debugger integration. PICSimLab supports microcontrollers from picsim, simavr, uCsim, qemu-stm32, qemu-esp32, and gpsim. PICSimLab has integration with MPLABX/Arduino IDE for programming the microcontroller's boards. As the purpose of PICSimLab is to emulate real hardware it does not have any source code editing support. For code editing and debugging the same tools used for a real board should be used with PICSimLab, such as MPLABX, Arduino IDE, or VSCode with PlatformIO. PICSimLab supports several devices (spare parts) that can be connected to the boards for simulation. Such as example LEDs and push buttons for simple outputs and inputs and some more complex ones like the ethernet shield w5500 for internet connection or the color graphic display ili9340 with touchscreen. The complete list of parts can be accessed in the documentation. Documentation at https://lcgamboa.github.io/picsimlab_docs/stable/

    os-tutorial

    os-tutorial

How to create an OS from scratch

os-tutorial is an open source educational project by cfenollosa that teaches the basics of building an operating system from scratch. The repository provides step-by-step lessons starting with bootloaders and moving through kernel development, interrupts, memory management, and system calls. Each tutorial is accompanied by clear explanations, code examples, and references to deepen understanding. The project uses x86 assembly and C to illustrate concepts, making it accessible to students and hobbyists interested in low-level programming. By compiling and running the examples with tools like QEMU, learners gain hands-on experience with OS fundamentals. With its structured lessons and approachable explanations, the repository has become a widely recommended resource for operating system beginners.

    raspberry-pi-os

    raspberry-pi-os

Learning operating system development using Linux kernel and Raspberry

This project provides a step-by-step educational guide on building a simple operating system kernel entirely from scratch, specifically targeting the Raspberry Pi 3. The operating system, referred to as RPi OS, is inspired by the Linux kernel but remains intentionally minimal to focus on clarity and teaching fundamental OS concepts. Each lesson introduces a kernel feature and demonstrates its implementation within RPi OS, followed by a comparison to how the same concept is realized in the Linux kernel. The repository is structured so that every lesson corresponds to a snapshot of the source code at that stage, making it easier for learners to follow the progression of kernel development. The design of the lessons emphasizes gradual learning, allowing readers without prior OS development experience to understand kernel internals. The project is still under active development and encourages community contributions to expand its lessons and improve its content.

    Comprehensive Rust

    Comprehensive Rust

This is the Rust course used by the Android team at Google

Comprehensive Rust is an open source training course developed by Google to provide a complete introduction to the Rust programming language. Originally created for Google engineers, it has since been released publicly for the broader developer community. The course is structured into modular lessons that cover the fundamentals of Rust, including ownership, lifetimes, traits, generics, and error handling, before progressing to advanced topics like concurrency, async programming, unsafe Rust, and FFI. It is designed to be taught in classroom settings but can also be followed independently, making it useful both for structured training and self-study. The materials are presented in a slide-based format with accompanying examples and hands-on exercises to reinforce key concepts. By offering an accessible yet thorough introduction, the course helps learners gain practical experience with Rust while building a strong understanding of its unique safety and performance guarantees.

    Customizable Instruction Set Simulator

Customizable simulator of virtual CPU with multitasking.

Project implementing simulator of virtual CPU with additional tools. Application written in C# 4, .Net Framework 4.0 , Visual Studio 2010 Features: - IDE- like environment with MDI interface - Customizable (plug- ins) architecture: instruction sets, directives, registers, additional MDI windows - Own assembler using Intel syntax producing binary programs - Simulation of i386- like CPU operating on multi- level cache and RAM - Simulation of debugger and memory view - Features of simple OS: scheduling, multi- tasking by context switching, memory management Currently available version considered "initial". Some of features were simplified or cut out (eg. plugins were statically built into project rather than loaded dynamically) to meet the deadline. Application provided in the version is functional and stable. The project is planned to be developed further.

    Booting-Aids_2_

Helps you to Boot your Experimental Assembly Language programs

To boot and run your experimental assembly language programs, booting them with either a USB Memory Stick or a DVD. This is Not for Linux. Program only tested on Windows 7 Laptop. The Memory Sticks have to be formatted FAT 32 with a Volume Label = "FINDING" ). The memory stick should have 1 single Fat32 partition It must be of very low capacity, of 128 Meg bytes maximum? Because the memory stick must Not have a MBR system. Copy your own experimental program to the empty memory stick as a file. Log off, turn off the computer, turn back on, press a number and your program should be able to run with computer booting and in "Real mode".. Booting-Aids_2_ can do several things which have a definite educational value, because booting lets your own programs run without an operating system until they can become like a small operating system of their own. Your programs have to be marked with the number 9090h at their exact start. It can be written like this: dw 9090h
