...Following this, FEM classifies the functional entities from a second matrix (the Test Matrix) into the groups made using the Training Matrix, generating fuzzy membership values for each unit in the Test Matrix. These values are real numbers from 0 to 1, representing increasing degrees of “truth” regarding an organism’s membership in the fuzzy set (see main text). A value of 0 represents non-membership in the fuzzy set, and a value of 1 represents total membership in the fuzzy set. Values in between represent degrees of niche overlap.

PlaTec is a 2D terrain generator that uses a simplified model of plate tectonics to produce realistic heightmaps in real time. The simulator starts with a flat fractal map and splits it randomly into plates. Plates are moved around the map. If continents of two plates collide, they fold creating mountain belts. If oceanic crust of one plate collides with another plate, subduction occurs resulting in coastal mountain ranges or island chains. ...The software package includes a computerized representation of 3-dimensional seismic wave speed for Earth's crust and shallow mantle (the outer-most 100 to 200 km of the Earth) and algorithms to calculate travel times for waves that are commonly used to locate events. RSTT was designed with real-time monitoring in mind and travel times can be computed on the fly in approximately 1 millisecond.

GRad is a standalone solar radiation model, programmed in Java.
