    HexWorld

    HexWorld

HexWorld a hexagon map example with code

Hello. Peter Voise the programmer here. This Is a school example of how to create a hexagon map. It also shows how to measure distances on this map and why the hexagon way and measurement of distances is so superior. It also shows that it is possible to place this grid on a simple coordinate system - x-y- axis. It is the first step - the creation of an interface that later might be used in a strategical game or whatever.

    Fuzzy Ecospace Modelling

    Fuzzy Ecospace Modelling

FEM allows users to create fuzzy functional groups for use in ecology.

Fuzzy Ecospace Modelling (FEM) is an R-based program for quantifying and comparing functional disparity, using a fuzzy set theory-based machine learning approach. FEM clusters n-dimensional matrices of functional traits (ecospace matrices – here called the Training Matrix) into functional groups and converts them into fuzzy functional groups using fuzzy discriminant analysis (Lin and Chen 2004 – see main text for more information).

    QNetMap

QNetMap is the library for displaying the map and the objects on it

The project has moved to GitHub (see https://github.com/vasyutin/qnetmap). The project is based on the QMapControl library (http://qmapcontrol.sourceforge.net/) by Kai Winter. To show the map QNetMap can use different providers like OpenStreetMap or other WMS servers. The map data can be downloaded from the Internet or from the disk cache. User's own raster maps can also be used. QNetMap supports layers so you can mix maps from different servers. To enrich the map presentation you can draw your own objects in the given coordinates. ...

    PlaTec

    Plate Tectonics simulator

PlaTec is a 2D terrain generator that uses a simplified model of plate tectonics to produce realistic heightmaps in real time. The simulator starts with a flat fractal map and splits it randomly into plates. Plates are moved around the map. If continents of two plates collide, they fold creating mountain belts. If oceanic crust of one plate collides with another plate, subduction occurs resulting in coastal mountain ranges or island chains. This project is part of my Bachelor of Engineering thesis in Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Helsinki, Finland. ...

Using PHP-CLI to parse NMEA data to generate depth maps with GD

Using PHP-CLI to parse NMEA data to generate depth maps with GD. As fishing is a passion of mine, and it got me to consider using the NMEA formatted data output from my Lowrance 5-DSI Elite to generate a bathymetric map of the lake at my cottage. It is currently very crude, just a bunch of CLI scripts that record NMEA data, and the other parses the stored data and builds a depth, water temperature and sample frequency map.
