dnsjnio is an extension for dnsjava. dnsjava requires each query to run in its own thread on its own port. dnsjnio allows large numbers of queries to be run in a single thread using the non-blocking nio library.

Works for all IP-adresses in the world.
If you need a fast Geo IP service - made in Java. Then this is the project.
It takes 30 sec to compile. 10 minutes to download the data files. 5-15 minutes to build the "jwhois / java" - data file for in memory database. 3 secs to startup and read the in memory database after restart. 0.0001 ms to make a lookup!!!

SGNP is a proposed grid naming standard providing (1) Scalable, global namespace; (2) Secure communication among resources/services (no central authority), and (3) Reliable rebind capability in the event of migration, failure, replication, etc.
Initiated by the EPIC Consortium, this project aims at developing a RESTful webservice for managing PIDs with the Handle System developed at CNRI.
Additionally, some RESTful clients in various commonly used languages will be developed.
