Everyday life history is becoming of high interest due to the growing amount of various historical sources related to common human being. Analysis of such sources needs considering them as interrelated. Evaluation of such relations leads to meaningful results for different groups of information consumers: from professional historians and experts from close humanitarian sciences to common people, interested in everyday community life. Corpuses of everyday life history sources are being collected in many museums and document archives. In this project, we consider the problem of creating software infrastructure for collaborative semantic annotation, information relation, and personalized access to corpus of everyday life history sources. Reliable group communication based on IP multicast and configurable protocol stack

A Java middleware API supporting broker-less, type+topic-based publish/subscribe and request/reply messaging for both intra- and inter-application, object-level communication. Broker-less: messages are transmitted directly between eBus applications. There is no message broker (i.e. server) in between. Type+topic addressing: eBus clients subscribe to a message class (type) and message topic, providing stronger typing than just topic-based subscriptions. Object-level communication: eBus delivers messages directly to client objects, not to a client process.

The purpose of the project is to develop a portable programming framework that facilitates distributed and multi-threaded programming for C++, Java, and Python. MADARA was originally developed as an agent-based middleware specifically for real-time, distributed artificial intelligence, but is now more general purpose for distributed timing, control, knowledge and reasoning, and quality-of-service. MADARA is composed of several tools and middleware, and the main entry point into the system is the Knowledge and Reasoning Language (KaRL) Engine, which provides a real-time scripting language for nanosecond execution times hooked into a flexible transport layer for distributed reasoning. The KaRL engine also supports object-oriented C++, Java, and Python programming through Containers, classes that provide abstractions and references for variable location within the KaRL Knowledge Base. LIXA (LIbre XA) is an open source and free Transaction Manager implementing the distributed transaction processing "XA specification" and "TX (transaction demarcation) specification" according to the X/Open CAE Specification. LIXA implements even XTA: XA Transaction API, an innovative API that implements XA transactional context passing among different applications. LIXA is a Transaction Manager but it's not a Transaction Monitor: this is the distinguishing feature of the project. LIXA technology enables every application container, like a web server or a shell, to become a two phase commit application server. The client/server architecture of LIXA allows many application containers to share a single LIXA (state) server: this is ideal when horizontal scalability is a must and many identical application containers must refer to a single transactional environment.
