Open Source C Distributed Computing Software

TurboVNC is a high-performance, enterprise-quality version of VNC based on TightVNC, TigerVNC, and X.org. It contains a variant of Tight encoding that is tuned for maximum performance and compression with 3D applications (VirtualGL), video, and other image-intensive workloads. TurboVNC, in combination with VirtualGL, provides a complete solution for remotely displaying 3D applications with interactive performance. TurboVNC's high-speed encoding methods have been adopted by TigerVNC and libvncserver, and TurboVNC is also compatible with any other TightVNC derivative. TurboVNC forked from TightVNC in 2004 and still covers all of the TightVNC 1.3.x features, but TurboVNC contains numerous feature enhancements and bug fixes relative to TightVNC, and it compresses 3D and video workloads much better than TightVNC while using generally only 5-20% of the CPU time of the latter. Using non-default settings, TurboVNC can also be made to compress 2D workloads as "tightly" as TightVNC.

This project is an implementation of the Precision Time Protocol (PTP) according to IEEE standard 1588 for Linux.

Slurm is a replacement for other resource management software and schedulers like gridengine or torque. The slurm roll integrates very well into a rocks clusters installation. It offers an easy programming concept for scalable and dynamically load balanced multicore data plane applications with a very low overhead run-to-completion principle. EM can run on bare metal for best performance or under an operating system with special arrangements. This release of the Open Event Machine contains the EM API as well as an example implementation for Intel multicore CPUs. !!! NOTE !!! DMTCP (Distributed MultiThreaded Checkpointing) transparently checkpoints a single-host or distributed computation in user-space -- with no modifications to user code or to the O/S. It works on most Linux applications, including Python, Matlab, R, GUI desktops, MPI, etc. It is robust and widely used (on Sourceforge since 2007). TeleScope is the efficient intensive-load XML data stream broker, replicator and simple event processing platform (SEP) written in C for the Fedora 17-18, Slackware 13-14, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL-6) Linux distributions. The platform is intended to be operated upon the single number/word values and is not meant to be deployed for full-text XML stream analysis. TeleScope has internal query language with a set of standard logical operators that allows to construct relatively complex query expressions. The platform features the pub-sub architecture and serves a set of simultaneously connected XML stream subscribers. The broker features Continuous Query engine over the XML stream. TeleScope provides the remote cli interface to login (in cisco fashion via telnet) and change/reset the query transaction on the current stream on the fly in real time. It also gives data query and subscribers statistics via a separate status port.
