Most digital cameras produce EXIF files, which are JPEG files with extra tags that contain information about the image. The EXIF library allows you to parse an EXIF file and read the data from those tags. Development has moved to https://github.com/libexif/. See https://libexif.github.io for more details.

photo-rename
Renames photos according to their shooting time.
A while after I collected a lot of images which could not be systematized in any good way and were stored in a single directory, I encountered with a problem of repeating of file names of the images. For the purpose this program was created. It can rename photos according to their shooting time. The program is able to process Nikon image settings files stored in NKSC_PARAM folder. Just point to path(s) to the photos and a directory depth to search if needed. You may also override template to rename photos. -

This tool listens on a configurable port on a GET request requesting a .jpg file. Up on such a request, the webcam is configured, activated, an image is captured, and the image is returned as a usual http reply. This enables the server to suspend and to wait for a WOL to resume. -

...After using many other fine manager applications I found some things I wanted in an image manager that didn't exist in just one manager so I tried to create one that had all the features that I liked in one manager. One notable feature is the meta data or tags are stored in the image file itself so that when you move your image library the metadata and all the tagging work you did goes with the images. It is not perfect but it has been in use for years on my machine and I thought it time to share and see what other developers could bring to it. -
