Bulk extractor for Ensoniq-formatted disk images
EnDiskEx is a command-line tool that bulk extracts instruments, sequences, songs, and banks from Ensoniq-formatted disk images (RAW, GKH, EDE, and EDA) for the EPS/ASR family of samplers. The extracted files are saved as EFE / SMF / TXT files. EnDiskEx is designed to extract Ensoniq banks for re-creation within a different DAW. It will track down the instrument and song files from bank references even if they were saved on another disk. There also exists a disk mapping feature to correct for any errors in this process caused by having relabeled disks, forgotten to label disks, etc. EnDiskEx has been tested and validated against a variety of RAW, GKH, EDE, and EDA images files the dev team has, including but not limited to, the ASR factory disks, the EPS 16+ factory disks, and the EPS (classic) factory disks.
This application is intended to be a tool for easy, almost automatic, creation and calculation of gear transmission finite element models. It consists of a geometry and mesh generator based on GMSH and a finite element model based on GETFEM++.

The BladeDesigner package is a CAD/CAE tool providing classes for turbomachine blade design. So far it is optimized to be useful in the aerodynamic design process. It comes with a GUI but is most powerful with user defined python scripts.
You Only Meter Once - The open hardware smart metering system
Researches have shown that immediate feedback can increase energy saving dramatically. YoMo aims to empower people using low-cost open hardware smart meters in their household. The metering system consists of a coordination unit, a raspberry pi, and several smart meters, arduino boards equipped with communication shields and our self-designed yomo metering shield. The smart meters are attached to household devices and monitor their energy consumption. The gathered data is timestamped and transmitted to the coordination device. This device offers interfaces to control the smart meters. On top of the software runs a apache webserver that provides all estimated data on our yomo project homepage. The system does not need any maintenance and works out of the box after the devices were integrated into the households Wi-Fi network. Washtub is a web-based controller for the Liquidsoap streaming media language. It allows graphical management of distributed liquidsoap daemons. Use it for controlling playlists, request queues and managing media collections.
A simple blocks game made with python and pygame. Licensed under GPLv3. Used python 2.6.4 and pygame 1.9.1 for development. Tested on Linux and Win XP. Update 2013: I'm sorry that the development for this game stopped. I tried to render everything with OpenGL and as expected, found myself in the middle of a multitude of problems relating to it. The blocks look a lot cooler in 3d though, so I hope I'll manage to resume studying what went wrong and eventually fix it. If I had a Windows machine to do development on, I might try to rewrite everything in Unity, but until they make a Linux dev platform, I think I'll remain with pygame and pyOpenGL.
A pythonic interface to MATLAB
This package lets Python users interface and communicate with MATLAB from Python. Pymatlab makes it easier for users to integrate a project with a large MATLAB codebase into python scripts by using MATLAB scripts as a part of the python program. The basic functionality of this package is to send data from Python to MATLAB's workspace to be able to run Matlab function on the data. After processing you retrieve back data to python. This enables you to process data with Mathlab's built in functions, toolboxes or Matlab-scripts. It is also possible to use MATLAB's to generate plots or other graphics. The package uses Numpy's ndarrays and translates them into MATLAB's mxarrays using Python's ctypes and Matlab's mx library. The interface to MATLAB's workspace in done through MATLAB's engine library.

GUI to help create a LaTeX document
This GUI lets the user navigate a wide selection of LaTeX structure and formatting tags that are used to write a document in LaTeX. It also has a raw text input box with a LaTeX preview for testing out LaTeX markup. Also, each markup has associated help text and is automatically selected to be ready to paste into the user's text editor. Also, this GUI lets the user choose which text editor and supporting programs are used to create their LaTeX document instead of forcing them into a particular interface of a pre-defined IDE.
NGS Pipeline and Automated Mutation Analysis
MutaNET comes with a next generation sequencing (NGS) pipeline that calls mutations based on paired-end NGS reads, an automated mutation analysis tool and various file converters and mergers. The mutation analysis feature considers the coding region, protein domains, regulation and transcription factor binding site information, and can be used to analyse the potential impact of mutations on antibiotic resistance.
Accounting for Linux
An accounting software written in Python and Gtk+ 3 with a backend of Postgresql. A free and open source alternative to Quickbooks and Peachtree. This software is usable but needs to be fleshed out.

This tool gives you a basic text editor to write your book in, it also gives you templates to design character and locations sheets along with generators to give inspiration for your book.
