Citizen Development and the Consumerization of IT Icon

How is your organization empowering citizen developers to create their own solutions to improve productivity?

Citizen developers are regular end-users who utilize low-code platforms, which empower them to create or customize applications which they and their colleagues can use, without the input of central IT. Citizen development software can enable any user to build applications or improve the efficiency of their business processes. It’s ultimately about putting more responsibility (and more technological capability) in the hands of workers.

  • Autologging

Easier logging and tracing of Python functions and class methods.

Autologging eliminates boilerplate logging setup code and tracing code, and provides a means to separate application logging from program flow and data tracing. Autologging provides two decorators and a custom log level: "autologging.logged" decorates a class to create a __log member. By default, the logger is named for the class's containing module and name (e.g. "my.module.ClassName"). "autologging.traced" decorates a class to provide automatic CALL/RETURN tracing for all class, static, and instance methods, as well as the special __init__ method (by default) "autologging.TRACE" is a custom log level (lower than logging.DEBUG) that is registered with the Python logging module when autologging is imported

Originally used to selectively roll out changes to the SourceForge site, the library lets you easily control whether a particular change (a switch) is active. You can make switches active for a certain percentage of visitors, all visitors to a particular host in a cluster, or if a particular string is present in the query string. Furthermore you can easily create your own conditions to do fancier things like geo-targeting, specific users, etc. In short, Switchboard turns you into a continuous deployment ninja.
