Framework for Systems Biology
The Systems Biology Workbench(SBW) is a framework for application intercommunications. It uses a broker-based, distributed, message-passing architecture, supports many languages including Java, C++, Perl & Python, and runs under Linux,OSX & Win32. It comes with a large number of modules, encompassing the whole modeling cycle: creating computational models, simulating and analyzing them, visualizing the information, in order to improve the models. All using community standards, such as SED-ML, SBML and MIRIAM.
SIMD-accelerated libjpeg-compatible JPEG codec library
libjpeg-turbo is a JPEG image codec that uses SIMD instructions (MMX, SSE2, NEON, AltiVec) to accelerate baseline JPEG compression and decompression on x86, x86-64, ARM, and PowerPC systems. On such systems, libjpeg-turbo is generally 2-6x as fast as libjpeg, all else being equal. On other types of systems, libjpeg-turbo can still outperform libjpeg by a significant amount, by virtue of its highly-optimized Huffman coding routines. In many cases, the performance of libjpeg-turbo rivals that of proprietary high-speed JPEG codecs. libjpeg-turbo implements both the traditional libjpeg API as well as the less powerful but more straightforward TurboJPEG API. libjpeg-turbo also features colorspace extensions that allow it to compress from/decompress to 32-bit and big-endian pixel buffers (RGBX, XBGR, etc.), as well as a full-featured Java interface.

This is a port of the ebe programming environment to QT.
The ebe programming environment is a nice IDE designed for developing Assembly programs. It also handles C and C++ programs as well since there was not much extra effort. It used to support Fortran and this could return if people want Fortran. This project is an effort to recode ebe using C++ and QT. Originally ebe was coded using Python, Tkinter and Pmw, which worked out pretty well. The QT environment offers substantially better GUI controls. The most obvious difference is that Python ebe has a lot of separate windows, while the QT ebe will use 1 main window and a collection of dockable subwindows. This will make it easier to use.

RAQUEL : "Relational Algebra Query, Update and Executive Language"
The project has 2 related sets of aims. As a language, RAQUEL is to : 1. be a pure relational language (unlike SQL) as defined by Date & Darwen's "The Third Manifesto"; 2. incorporate a generalised extension of the ANSI-SPARC 3-layer DB architecture; 3. have the maximum ratio of functionality to conceptual complexity (as defined by Fred Brooks). As a DBMS, RAQUEL is to : 1. have an Open Architecture, enabling a variety of DBMS configurations of 'black box' code, each installation optimised for a certain kind of DB; 2. have a range of core black boxes to provide general DBMS functionality, & a range of plug-in black boxes to support different physical storage mechanisms & scalar data types; 3. employ code designed with a mixture of functional, OO & other methods so as to minimise internal DBMS state complexity. The project links to a Northumbria University website where the vision, specification & design of RAQUEL have been published.

SIMD macro assembler unified for ARM, MIPS, PPC and x86
UniSIMD assembler is a high-level C/C++ macro assembler framework unified across ARM, MIPS, Power and x86 architectures. It establishes a subset of both BASE and SIMD instruction sets with clearly defined common API, so that application logic can be written and maintained in one place without code replication. The assembler itself isn't a separate tool, but rather a collection of C/C++ header files, which applications need to include directly in order to use. At present, Intel SSE/SSE2/SSE4 and AVX/AVX2/AVX-512 (32/64-bit x86 ISAs), ARMv7 NEON/NEONv2, ARMv8 AArch32/AArch64 NEON (32/64-bit ARM ISAs), MIPS 32/64-bit r5/r6 MSA and Power 32/64-bit VMX/VSX (little/big-endian ISAs) are mostly implemented, although scalar improvements, horizontal reductions, wider SIMD vectors with zeroing/merging predicates in 3/4-operand instructions, are planned as extensions to current 2/3-operand SPMD-driven vertical SIMD ISA. Command line tool for counting source code lines
cline is a command line tool that counts code lines in your project folder. It is designed to recursively find any source file matching specific rules and count the line breaks within that file. You may specify file suffixes to include or exclude as well as regular expressions for code lines that shall be excluded (e.g. to exclude comments). By default a heuristic algorithm skips binary files. You may configure the restrictiveness of this algorithm with command line options.
