HSQLDB is a relational database engine written in Java, with a JDBC driver, conforming to ANSI SQL:2011. A small, fast, multithreaded engine and server with memory and disk tables, LOBs, transaction isolation, multiversion concurrency and ACID.
Search engine and data mining applications and ClueWeb datasets.
The Lemur Project develops search engines, browser toolbars, text analysis tools, and data resources that support research and development of information retrieval and text mining software, including the Indri search engine in C++, the Galago search engine research framework in Java, the RankLib learning to rank library, ClueWeb09 and ClueWeb12 datasets and the Sifaka data mining application.
The goal of PyTables is to enable the end user to efficiently and easily manipulate large datasets (both homogenous, i.e. arrays, and heterogenous, i.e. tables) on a persistent, hierarchical way.
ANSI Standard MUMPS
Implementation of ANSI Standard MUMPS 1995 and ISO/IEC 11756 for FreeBSD, OSX and linux. Also on the Raspberry Pi (ARM) under debian and Windows under cygwin. This is the post-relational database.
Development for the Text DB API (http://www.c-worker.ch/txtdbapi/)
Postgres-XL is a PostgreSQL-based scale-out cluster that handles both OLTP write intensive workloads as well as OLAP/BI type of workloads thanks to MPP parallelism. Postgres-XL is fully ACID and supports cluster-wide Multi-version Concurrency Control (MVCC) for global consistency and performance. There are commercial companies such as 2ndQuadrant, who provide support and consulting around Postgres-XL. Please visit http://2ndquadrant.com/en/resources/postgres-xl/ for more details.

A Database System for Metamodeling and Method Engineering
ConceptBase.cc is a multi-user deductive and object-oriented database system for metamodeling and method engineering. Includes a graphical client that builds upon the logic-based features of the ConceptBase.cc server. The data model is O-Telos. ConceptBase.cc can represent information at the data level (example data, traces of process executions etc.), the class level (schemas, process definitions etc.), the metaclass level (constructs of modeling languages), the meta-metaclass level (constructs for defining modeling languages), and so forth. ConceptBase.cc is developed by the ConceptBase Team at University of Skövde (HIS) and University of Aachen (RWTH). ConceptBase.cc supports Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. ConceptBase.cc is free software distributed under a FreeBSD-style license.
OpenRolap: an implementation of OLAP in a relational database. Conceptually simple, the current version is in MySQL, with a Java API. The API aims to avoid complex MDX-type language, instead to use a simple "filter path" structure.
