A BSD licensed debugger intended for inclusion in FreeBSD at first and possibly other BSD variants in the future as well. It's designed to be a replacement of the GNU debugger there.
AVaRICE is a program for interfacing the Atmel JTAG ICE to GDB to allow users to debug their embedded AVR target.
IMAVR is Atmel AVR 8-bit RISC chip emulator for UNIX. You can run your code before programming to chip. Embedded simple debugger and disassembler. Emulate wide range of AVR chip, wide range of their modules: EEPROM,USART, timers and so on.
Open Source development tools and drivers for Freescale Background Debug Module (BDM) interface.
Deprecated memory tracking library.
This library is deprecated, has not been updated for nearly a decade and should not be used. See other projects, such as tcmalloc, jemalloc, etc. ==== Previous Description === Memory allocation library for "corking" memory leaks, especially for long-running processes and daemons. One can set a time point so memory leaks of allocations before that time are categorized differently (in the summary report) than leaks before i
DUMA (Detect Unintended Memory Access) is a multi-platform memory debugging library. It can detect memory leaks and buffer overruns (or underruns) in a malloc() / new memory buffer. DUMA is a fork of Bruce Perens' Electric Fence library.
IPGDB is a collection of extensions to GDB and FreeBSD-4.3 to allow two-machine kernel debugging over UDP. It acts much like two-machine kernel debugging over serial ports.
Interactive PHP shell Create an interactive environment to debug php line by line. It enables you to execute php code as if it were a command line in a similar setting to bash and psh (perl shell).
The "JTAG-GDB server" is a program for integrating the ARM-Embedded ICE logic with the GNU-Debugger GDB.
Rapid applications development tool and libraries for FPC
The Lazarus IDE is a stable and feature rich visual programming environment for the FreePascal Compiler. It supports the creation of self-standing graphical and console applications and runs on Linux, FreeBSD, MacOSX and Windows.
This is a project to develop tools for the MOUSE programming language and to encourage its use as an experimental and teaching language.
This project intends to create a portable 8051 simulator to run on many platforms using FLTK as the graphics library
QDisassembler Interactive Disassembler
SETEdit is a friendly text editor. It is a text mode application with windows, buttons, mouse support, etc. The main target of the project are programmers so the editor is mainly oriented to programming.

UPS is a source level C, C++ and Fortran debugger with an X windows interface. It's a very light debugger, but is quite efficient and works well. An ANSI compliant C interpreter is included.
The Audible Debugger
A front end for gdb which allows assigning and playback of any type of audible media to denote break and watch points. It allows the developer to 'hear' their program running - capitalizing on the extraordinary ability of the human brain to recognize patterns and defects through our auditory sense.
[from port's pkg-descr] "pstack" is a workalike for the Solaris program of the same name. Running pstack on a process or core file produces a stack trace of each thread in that process.
Performs basic checks on shell scripts for the presence of non portable syntax.
cingb is an ATTEMPT to write a Gameboy-emulator for all kinds of platforms. It plays Gameboy and Gameboy Color ROMs, includes a debugger for step-by-step analysis of Gameboy programs and might be also interesting for educational purposes.
C++ exception (and generic) stack trace library (now libinstrument)
Project is migrating to libinstrument (https://sourceforge.net/projects/libinstrument/) Libcsdbg is a C++ exception stack tracer, offers the tools to create and process exception traces, the path an exception has propagated up the call stack, unwinding it, up to the point where it was handled. The traces are detailed with demangled function signatures and addr2line info (source file and line of each function call). Libcsdbg will perform flawlessly with multi-threaded programs, with dynamically linked shared objects (DSO) and with any statically linked library. Libcsdbg helps the developer/tester also create stack traces of any thread, at any point during, as a snapshot of the runtime call graph. This is very useful in cases of fatal errors, reception of terminating signals or process abortion/termination (such as segmentation faults)
SpreadAppender is a log4j appender module that broadcasts log messages over a local multicast network using the Spread API. It is very efficient and perfect for clusters of network applications. Your sysadmin will thank you for it.
Helps one to write C code to inspect the kernel corefile contents and do it way faster than gdb.
The MSX emulator that aims for perfection. NOTE: this project moved to GitHub. The content of this project page is frozen and will not be updated. The project is alive and kicking, though! Check out our website for the new project pages.
