XMLTV obtains and processes TV listings data
XMLTV is a set of programs to process TV (tvguide) listings and help manage your TV viewing, storing listings in an XML-based format. There are utilities to download TV listings for many countries, filter programs and Perl libraries to process listings. This library represents XLSX files writer for Microsoft Excel 2007 and above. The main feature of this library is that it uses C++ standard file streams. On the one hand it results in almost unnoticeable memory and CPU resources consumption while processing (that may be very useful at saving a large data arrays), but on the other hand it makes unfeasible to edit data that were written. Hence, if using this library the structure of the future report should be known enough. The gawkextlib project provides several extension libraries for gawk (GNU AWK), as well as libgawkextlib containing some APIs that are useful for building gawk extension libraries. These libraries enable gawk to process XML data, interact with a PostgreSQL database, use the GD graphics library, and perform unlimited precision MPFR calculations. These extensions work with GNU AWK version 4.1.1 or later. We have created a framework for packaging gawk extensions, and we welcome further contributions. Recent additions include haru, redis, and select for I/O multiplexing.

Database replication tool based on XML Schema
xsd2pgschema is a Java application suite, which converts XML Schema 1.1 to PostgreSQL DDL and supports XML data migration into PostgreSQL based on the XML Schema without defects on information content. It also supports full text search via either Apache Lucene or Sphinx Search. File convesion from XML to CSV or JSON is available as well as mapping XML Schema to JSON Schema. Obtained PostgreSQL database can be optimized at user's discletion. Moreover, XPath/SQL translation, direct XPath addressing and document order preservation are possible by option. Quite large XML file can be split and processed through xmlsplitter, a flexible XML splitter based on XPath and StAX.

simple BNF parser makes xml markup of matches
bnf2xml a simple BNF parser that takes text as input, searches according to a BNF query file, and outputs text marked up by the xml labels that show context. bnf2xml is as simple to use as any text binary ie, awk(1) grep(1). bnf2xml does not require C API because it outputs simple xml labeling. README is visible on file dl page. EXAMPLE: $ echo "hi" | bnf2xml patternfile <word><alph>h</alph><alph>i</alph></word> or <gas>hydrogen iodide</gas> patternfile says how to find needle in haystack and what to show, ie: <alph> ::= a | b | c | d ... <word> ::= <alph>+ bnf2xml is a top down recursive parser. Unlike buttom up parsers like gcc(1) or some top downs, bnf2xml is completely unambiguous / resolves ALL conflicts. Slower on ave. for parsing C or than sed(1) for simple searches. Far easier than using flex/C to create a parser. caveate: I do not suggest it's worth while to make a new gcc(1) using bnf2xml. bnf2xml an nth BETA release, but no complains yet.
