  • Clipper Icon

Polygon and line clipping and offsetting library (C++, C#, Delphi)

The Clipper library performs clipping and offsetting for both lines and polygons. All four boolean clipping operations are supported - intersection, union, difference and exclusive-or. Polygons can be of any shape including self-intersecting polygons. 17 March 2016: Since it's been some time since the last update, some may be wondering if I no longer plan further updates. I do have plans for more updates but I also have a chronic health condition (not life threatening) that's set me back, and I don't really have a good idea when I'll restart development.

  • CountBitsSet

minimal benchmark code for Counting Set Bits (ones) in an Integer

I was curious how much better the Algorithms, pointed out by BitTwiddling Hacks, perform than a simple Lookup Table approach... Now I think, perhaps my little investigation is interesting for others too... PS: the parallel counting Algo is about 35% faster on average on my computers than the simpel LUT solution. Also this shows nicely how different a human brain compatible solution is to a binary machine optimal solution :-) PS: see result.txt in Code to see various runs with different compilers and compiler switches

  • MoveableGraphics

To give users the full control over the running application. This means that an application is working according to its purpose but the control over the whole interface is taken from developer and given to users. While an application is running, users can move, resize, and tune all the screen objects through which the communication with an application is going. Set of files includes the book (both in DOC and PDF formats), a big demonstration project with all its files available (all the source files are in C#), and an additional description of many used classes. Book uses the examples from the demo project to explain everything in details. The examples are from many different areas. Examples from the first part of the book are aimed at the details of algorithm and its use with different objects; examples from the second part are mostly the real and very useful applications.

  • Path Finder Qt

finds the sortest path on the square board. GUI is implemented in Qt.

The program demonstrates the usage of the A* algorithm to find the shortest path. It searches the shortest path between source piece and target piece on the rectangular board. On the board the obstacles (wall) can be constructed. In addition to the algorithm, the GUI is provided. The GUI is written in Qt. Using the GUI, one can construct and move interactively the obstacles on the board. For every modification of the board, the shortest path is calculated automatically. Some statistics related to A* algorithm are presented as well. This project is related to my other projects located at sourceforge as well:
