    Dependency Discovery Tool

    A tool for discovering external dependencies in Office files.

    The Dependency Discovery Tool searches through binary office files (.doc, .xls and .ppt) and tries to find any documents or files that are linked to the document. It is written in java, using the Apache POI libraries ( http://poi.apache.org ) This project was part of a summer scholarship from the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Victoria University, Wellington (http://ecs.vuw.ac.nz) in conjunction with Archives New Zealand ( http://archives.govt.nz ). At the moment it requires Java 6 to build and run, but this should change soon, and it will run on Java 5 upwards.

    An electronic Book Kit

    Kit for building ePUB ebooks from Open Document Text

    eBK – an electronic book kit – is primarily designed to take documents which conform to the Open Document Text format as produced using OpenOffice Writer format and use them to create an electronic book (ebook) that adheres to the ePUB format. Such ebooks can be read using computer software or using many of the currently available ebook readers. The Wikipedia entry on ePUB gives more information on the ePUB standard and on compatible ebook readers. eBK comprises two tools: ODTConverter and eBKBuilder, both programmed in Java.

    Stymaker is a GUI application assisting LaTeX users with creating their own style packages. After filling a simple form one can get a new package file corresponding to the chosen settings. This package may be included in preamble of LaTeX document by: \usepackage{mystyle} The new package, based on standard LaTeX packages, allows changing of the document layout, or appearance of standard environments like such as lists. While testing new settings one may instantly view actual changes in an external PDF viewer.
