Fira Code is a free and open source monospaced font containing programming ligatures for the most commonly-used multi-character combinations in programming. Programmers use a lot of symbols that are encoded through a series of characters. Often these symbols are quickly done and overlooked, causing errors due to spacing, etc. Fira Code helps solve such problems. While all programming languages should be designed with full-fledged Unicode symbols for operators, such is not yet the case. Until then, there's Fira Code. Fira Code's solution is clean, simple and only font rendering. This means that the underlying code is still very much ASCII-compatible, allowing for the faster reading and understanding of code.

KShutdown is a graphical shutdown utility for Linux and Windows. It allows you to turn off or suspend a computer at a specified time. It features various time and delay options, command-line support, and notifications.

Smb4K is an advanced network neighborhood browser and Samba share mounting utility. It is based on the KDE Frameworks 5 and Samba's client library (libsmbclient). It scans your network neighborhood for all available workgroups, servers and shares and can mount all desired shares to your local file system. Comix is a user-friendly, customizable image viewer. It is specifically designed to handle comic books, but also serves as a generic viewer. It reads images in ZIP, RAR or tar archives (also gzip or bzip2 compressed) as well as plain image files.

Starting from GNOME 3.12, most portability patches are merged upstream, so you can also directly use JHBuild on FreeBSD to check whether an issue is already fixed in the upstream.
