Material Cold Start is an Android technique and asset generator for improving the visual appearance of an application's cold-start period. It uses the activity window background to display an interface-like preview before the main activity finishes initializing. This avoids the blank flash that can otherwise appear around status bars, toolbars, and app bars. The project generates scalable nine-patch assets that can imitate a Material Design app shell during startup.
